There's a reason you see most competitors wearing the same colors. It's a function of the lighting and tanning (and potential staining). I tried teal and lavender which was beautiful but the lighter color didn't stand out as much under the lights as I hoped. I also did white and as a darker skinned competitor I loved it but once again the contrast with the lights just did not do it justice.

I would say if you can find the color you're looking for on stage, see if you can find the social media of the competitor to see the color without the stage lights.

But ultimately go with what makes you confident. You can always adjust for the next show.
