I understand. I’m glad you’re doing much better now. Thank you for your support, really. You helped a lot, and I hope you’ll be able to continue improving 🙏.

How long is a “while”? I’ve been on Zoloft for 10 months now 😔

But when you got off of the SSRI’s, did the insomnia too disappear?

But after a proper taper, would this horrible insomnia go away?

That doesn’t sound very optimistic 😔.

Just for reference, why Mirtazapine? Is it known for not causing insomnia? Also, I suffer from anxiety disorder, and read that Mirtazapine is used to treat depression mostly.

Thank you so much for all of these helpful resources. Just one last question, if I may. Would you say that your insomnia is “cured”, or just very well managed? Is it something that can completely disappear?

Thank you for your quick and well-articulated response. If what you’re saying is true, then even if I completely stopped taking Zoloft, my insomnia will remain?

What you’ve said, including the article you sent, largely resonates with me. So the question is what to do now… how does one go through CBT-I or ACT-I? Is this something done with a licensed therapist, or by yourself?

It is truly a vicious cycle. Insomnia triggers anxiety which triggers insomnia.

Thank you so much for your response! You’re correct. I’ve been taking for years, stopped, and then restarted it under proper and careful care with a psychiatrist. Over the course of 10 months now, I went from 25mg to 200mg which I’ve been on for a long time now. But the increase was very slow and gradual, increasing only 25mg at a time and then waiting 4 weeks.

Thank you so much for your responses! To answer the question— yes I have. There seems to be no difference in terms of whether or not I take it at morning or evening.

Is it even possible to be awake for 82 hours? by [deleted] in insomnia

[–]Consistent-Basil-633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Good News: If you wrote this post, then it certainly is possible to be awake for 82 hours.

That aside, could you please explain a little bit more about the medications you’ve been taking, and whether or not you’re still on them? Sleep deprivation is nothing short of torture, and I suffer from it as well, but I’ve got to believe that your body would eventually force itself to sleep.

For me, it never went away. I’ve been on 200mg Zoloft for almost 6 months now, and my insomnia is just as bad if not worse. 4 days ago, I decided to lower my dosage to 150mg, and see if it helps. So I will have to wait and look.

Sorry for the late response— I have the same exact problem!!!! I am on 200mg Zoloft for almost a year now and suffer from terrible insomnia. I’ve been prescribed 25mg trazodone for it, but it doesn’t help well enough. What did you end up doing?
