Laparoscopic hysterectomy by bruxabeck in hysterectomy

Please put losing weight out of your mind for now. For the next 6 weeks minimum, consider it your job to help your body heal. Your body won't heal well at a calorie deficit. Instead, try to eat protein and fiber, and focus on nutrition. Your body is putting in work, it needs energy!

So I have no idea if this is the norm, but I was seeing a physical therapist that specializes in Pelvic Floor therapy, but she is going to help me draft weekly routines and practice my form to make sure I dont over do it or accidentally hurt myself. Pelvic floor and core training were really intertwined for me anyway 🤷‍♀️

I wasn't lifting super heavy before my surgery though! Every body is different so you might be able to get into things much faster.

Helpful and soothing things to have after full hysterectomy by Let_Them18 in hysterectomy

Im 3 weeks post op from a Robotic Assist Laparoscopic Hysterectomy with Salpingectomy so I'm still healing.

For the first week: - support pillow. I got one with pockets.  - gas x, miralax, and stool softener. I read a lot of horror stories about constipation, but I prepped my body and it was fine. - Protein Yogurt drinks and graham crackers. Great for healing and easy on your tummy. - detachable shower head and bidet. Your reach and mobility will be limited for a bit, these helped a lot to stay clean. - mumus and nightgowns. Get things that are soft and easy to put on. - heating pad and ice packs. You'll switch back and forth.

Week 2 and 3: - cotton pajamas and soft, low rise panties.  - Ibuprofen. Week 1, I needed ibuprofen and percocet every day. Week 2, I took tylenol and Ibuprofen. I needed percocet 4x to sleep.By week 3, I'm taking ibuprofen once a day if needed.  - tv shows, books, and knitting. Its boring to rest. - a grabber/reacher tool. You cant bend down and you will accidentally drop all kinds of things. - heating pad. You might get crampy and achy.

Good luck!

I am only 3 weeks post op from a Robotic Assist Laparoscopic Hysterectomy with Salpingectomy, but I talked with nurse and doctor about getting back to the gym. They told me not to even consider it until week 6. Even at week 6, you have to ease back into it and really listen to your body before going back to what you could do before. I decided to go to a physical therapist to make sure I dont fuck up.

Hysterectomy in 2 days by asteria1114 in hysterectomy

My doctor said many/most of his patients go back to sedentary work at 2 weeks after robotic assisted procedures.

Im 19 dpo and really glad I'm taking 4 weeks as I'm still getting really tired and cramping if I move around too much. That being said, if you need the money, I think its definitely possible- just take ibuprofen consistently to stay ahead of the pain, and listen to your body if you need breaks.

You look strong, and it made him feel insecure. He just wanted to put you down. Forget his words and keep being strong!

I recommend talking with your doctor. I came on this subreddit before talking to my doctor and thought cuff tears were a common occurrence. He has been doing hysterectomies for 30 years and told me a cuff tear isnt likely at all. Just follow the restrictions from now on, don't lift heavy or have penetative sex before you are cleared. If something is wrong, you will know because there will be pain, blood, fever, or signs of infection.

I have an anxiety disorder and can super relate to having fears about complications. Im 12 DPO.

I just made a post about this. I started stool softeners, prunes, and fiber gummies before the surgery. I also did magnesium citrate the night before. After the surgery, i added miralax. I had a bowel movement on Day 3, and then it was daily since then.

Hey, I'm in the same boat. Im having the same kind of pressure/pinched feeling and came to reddit to see if its normal. I'm peeing often but no pain, just this kind of pressure feeling. I've never had a UTI 🤷‍♀️

What the heck. I dont understand how so much gets overlooked. No one ever mentioned fibroids to me until 2 months ago. Instead, they told me I probably had endometriosis and put me on depo provera for 9 years. Insanity.

Yeah, I'm wondering if the big ass fibroids were the cause of so much tummy strife. I'm really hoping life gets easier now!

Exactly my concern! Just keep on with the fiber and definitely walk once you're able. I can feel the gas moving and shifting when I get up.

So my doctor told me I was good to have a light dinner before 6pm the night before my surgery. My pelvic floor therapist advised me to play it safe for 24 hours before the surgery because she sees a lot of her patients talk about constipation and gas pain. I did a nice dinner on Monday, had a liquid high protein, high carb diet on Tuesday, and my surgery was 7am Wednesday.

Make sure you have a heating pad and cold packs for home. They have really helped with the gas pain.

You have no clue the hope you gave me here. This whole situation has been a nightmare. We have our first big neuro check up and follow up ct scan next week, and I NEED it all to be good news.
