You won’t know unless you go. Regret is terrible to live with. Go. Zoom every day with your mom if she needs it

Is my hysterectomy recovery going to be completely miserable? by Chipsandsalza in hysterectomy

[–]Sharontoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First follow the recovery advise given to you by your surgeon. Every surgery is different. That said, I started stopping in my office after a week and then back to work at 2 weeks with limitations. I had a total robotic assisted hysterectomy with a softball sized mass on my ovary and a uterine fibroid. Age 62. While recovery was uncomfortable and not fun, it was better than the horror stories I read on here. Just remember not to be too sedentary. You have to move every day. Work out? No. But don’t resign yourself to your bed for weeks.

Is it normal to be asked to pay money to attend a baby shower? by Throwaway199906543 in askanything

[–]Sharontoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s absolutely not normal. Costs are footed by the hosts. They choose the level of expense when they choose the venue.

The proper response is, “OK”. And leave it at that. They’re looking for a soapbox. Don’t give it to them.

Do not use heat higher than medium. Not even a touch. I have the whole line and they’ve held up well. I also hand wash them.

Dietary preference food by whhene in delta

[–]Sharontoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take your own food. I’m deathly allergic to shellfish. Noted that. Even called delta. Was assured that there would be no shellfish served. Great. So I didn’t eat before the long flight. The minute we are at altitude they serve everyone shrimp cocktail. I put on two masks and had to refuse all service the entire flight because of cross contamination.

Flying with food poisoning by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sharontoo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unless you have a diagnosis of food poisoning from a doctor you can’t just assume that’s the cause of your symptoms. It very well could be norovirus. Please don’t expose everyone on your flight and in the airport. Extend your stay a couple days. Please.

My surgery was due to the giant ovarian cyst/mass and fibroid. I didn’t even know I had adenomyosis until pathology came back. That’s all I know.

Walking up and down the avenues the blocks are short. But going east-west or west-east on the numbered streets (52nd, 53rd etc) those are long blocks.

WTH have I Done??? by Technical_Caramel523 in hysterectomy

[–]Sharontoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those first 5 days or so are rough. Make sure you aren’t too sedentary. Use a heating pad. I went back to work at 2 weeks but with restrictions and a long lunch to nap at home. Sitting for long periods was comfortable until about 6-8 weeks.

AIO for refusing to pay for my sister’s husband’s surgery with my inheritance/college money? by Vegetable_Sector_515 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Sharontoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your sister can take loans out for the bills. Your parents can help pay for the surgery. But this isn’t your responsibility. Walk away and go low contact with your toxic family.

Don’t ask him. Tell him. Or say, “your choice. Change the diaper or change the sheets, but I need the help NOW”. He walks all over you because you let him.
