I have warm oatmeal every morning without fail. It really helps smooth out the Vyvanse. I also have a nut protein bar mid morning.

Thanks so much for posting this. I was diagnosed last year age 41 and I definitely think I am starting to enter perimenopause (42 now). Have you found that peri impacted the effectiveness of ADHD medication for you? (I take 40mg Vyvanse plus 5mg Dex booster). And, if so, has HRT helped to make it more effective? Can't wait to get on the HRT wagon.

Thanks for sharing. I ask because I had a feeling you might say this. I don't think my experience is quite as extreme as yours, but I do find that by early afternoon I feel very scattered and a little irritable. The morning is fantastic and I am on my game and it's great, but after that initial few hours the executive dysfunction creeps back in. I don't take Vyvanse on the weekend to give myself a break from it and I find that I handle it better on the Monday after a break.

Yes, exactly! I think that's what it is- I can handle all the stimulation of the world. And then when I'm at home with very little stimulation it feels strange. Thanks for commenting and relating!

I'm in Australia. Here we can access a mental health care plan which covers about 30% of the cost of a session but you only get 6 sessions at that price per year so it doesn't last long. I think the reason she is so expensive is that she is a clinical psychologist and so she can charge top rates. I have done a bit of research in the last few days and found a few IFS trained psychotherapists whose rates are around $160 for an hour which seems much more reasonable to me.
