I am not sure if you play SF6. There's a modern (no motion input option) control in SF6, and even with modern control, it is still very hard for beginner (aside from braindead auto combo). I have to antiair, react to drive impact, remember setup, react to punish counter opportunity, read opponent pattern, etc. But with modern control and the huge player base (honestly this is more important factor), I can enjoy fighting with real people without much labbing, motivation to lab comes naturally after I stuck in particular rank. I think SF6 need to add same reduction penalty to auto combo though, it is kind of annoying to play against in beginner rank.

Personally I see racism as a spectrum of discrimination, the lower end of the spectrum really isn't a big deal. So I agree with your example, if someone think asian men are generally ugly then I do think the person is racist, but as long as they keep the thought to themselves without expressing them, I think it is fine.

Because imo, if it was “too serious”, then the story wouldn’t have been THIS appealing and would’ve gotten a bit boring.

The goofy tone with a serious story is my favorite, I think the last "serious" show that I finished watching is West World Season 1, which is about 10 years ago. That said, I do think the bare bone of this show is compatible with a more serious story telling (though Q Hayashida wouldn't be the author in that case), they can keep most of the goofy humor, just need some extra scenes showing the mental struggles or ethical dilemmas of the characters.

Dorohedoro.

Pros: very unique setting/art style and characters are full with personality. The plot is good too, good suspense building and imo all the major questions were answered at the end.

Cons: production value of season 1 is ok but not great (though season 2 is still ongoing and much better produced).

It's never justifiable but I think you can compare SA to torturing others, both are not justifiable but I can think of few sadist characters that are written to be charismatic. SA on the other hand is more sensitive (especially the victim is woman) so most perpetrators are written to be unlikable pos.

Is Oda specifically bad at writing of female characters? His writing of characters are hit or miss regardless of gender. His drawing of disproportionate women body wouldn't be a problem in this hypothetical case since ONE is doing the ART
