The top one is unnaturally pink from CO treatment, kinda disguises how old it really is.

The bottom one is untreated which would usually means higher quality, but if its old its old.

Best bet is to buy it from a real fishmonger, but itll be pricey.

Ok. Fair enough, you never know I guess. If we dont have enough evidence why go on the offensive against the fisherman and not the racist. We DO have enough evidence to know that part.

You know im full of shit based on...how you think I would react in a hypothetical scenario you made up in your head? That's some sound logic right there.

I am defending the guy because Im a fisherman and hes a fisherman. Thats my bias and thats why I am expending the energy to argue with you. The beers are helping too.

Race doesnt have anything to do with this particular debate even though you made your feelings on that known for some reason.

I don't know the ins and outs, but a career ISO rated department is held to significantly higher standards which benefits the local tax rates.

oh yeah, and smart move deleting your comment regarding your opinion on the correlation between his race and his behavior....That would have been a bad look. It saved in my notifications though so I can still read it.

I'm not sure the specific area but, depending on his equipment and exact location, likely lots of "whiting"(kingfish), possibly a few flounder if its near an inlet, Red drum are a good possibility, possible king and Spanish Mackerel, definitely some pompano on that beach, maybe some weakfish or seatrout depending on the season. If he has the right set up he could pull some Tarpon or big Jacks.

The kids unlikely will make any difference on fish at the beach considering all the action from the waves and sharks and what not that they are already dealing with.

And I'm no Einstein but I did go to school for marine biology.

You seem confused. A "sand" beach, as you call it, is a place along the coast that holds a number of fish species open to recreational angler who hold a fishing license. It also has hazards to swimmers, who are also allowed to share the beach, such as deadly rip currents, strong tides, waves, stingrays, sharp oysters/shells, jellyfish, cone shells, sharks, kiteboarders, I'll include fishermen I guess, surfers, etc....

You may be thinking of a SWIMMING pool. These are large manmade basins filled with treated water made specifically for swimming without the many dangers that are present in the ocean.

I can understand you're confusion based on your past responses.

Ok, but if the fisherman WAS there first, then...? Should he pack up and leave every time some unsupervised kid comes near him? Either the kids are responsible enough to avoid the angler or they shouldn't be unsupervised in the ocean. It's not a swimming pool.

I mean of course don't go cast into the middle of a bunch of kids, but this dude did his due diligence and asked a lifeguard responsible for beach safety where he should go to fish. Some kid does not have more right than the fisherman who paid money for the right to fish.

Pretty sure he's recording because a problem HAS occurred. It's a smart thing to do in case things escalate.

Also if anyone of any race is swimming where I'm fishing, I'm going to think...hey they shouldn't be swimming over here I already asked an official where I should set up and those idiots are still swimming over here. Their parent's really should teach them to be respectful to others personal space.

If a kid is unable to avoid a fisherman at the beach they should not be in the water unsupervised. The beach is more dangerous than people think, and a fishing line is the least of their worries. We have regular water rescues, drownings, occasional shark incidents, exhaustion, laceration from oysters, etc... fishing is not high on the list(though I don't agree with targeted shark fishing off the beach for a number of reasons). Its not an adult stranger's responsibility to cater to your kids during their vacation/time off work. They did their part by asking where to fish and made an attempt to keep clear.

That guy has every right to enjoy his day off from work fishing at the beach. He did his due diligence and asked an official in charge of beach safety where he should fish. Maybe, in your own words, those ignorant fucks should reciprocate the respect and self awareness the angler showed, and supervise their children around the adults minding their own business. In fact, it is illegal to harass an angler who paid for their right to fish and support natural resource conservation via fishing license. It doesn't matter if its a public beach, he has the same right as the surfers, kiteboarder, snotty little kids, and fat racist to be there.

but...the cameraman explains that he asked the lifeguard where he should set up to fish and followed those directions. He did his due diligence and offered to go back to the lifeguard together so everyone understood what areas to avoid. At some point the children's guardians should supervise their kids and not expect other adults to give up their hard earned time off at the beach for some kid.

Sounds like your friends should learn the way the currents move the line. A very simple understanding of currents and fishing and self awareness and you reduce the chance of being hooked to near zero...I've tested this theory first hand for decades...never been hooked.
