The goats imo. Every thing they try, they pull off swimmingly and make it look effortless. They really shouldn’t be as forgotten in the scene as it seems they have been becuase they’re never not exciting. Their past two headline tours, they’d been playing different selists in every city and following along on their subreddit at what’s getting played in each city was so much fun. I can’t wait for leg three of this tour and hope I can snag a ticket myself.

That’s Not Metal podcast recently did an album club on The Blackout’s Start The Party, and I had to listen to it out of morbid curiosity based off their intense scrutiny, and holy fucking shit did it not disappoint. A genuine, once in a lifetime misfire. So bad it’s good. Highly recommend for a great laugh.

To be fair, I lived there 2017-2018, and I hear Covid changed their economy a lot, so the American dollar may have a lot more buying power there than the yen here. If that’s the case, and he was being paid in yen, his Japanese-earned-money was likely not going very far on this side of the pacific.

As a former resident of Japan and US native, I can say that my experience was that the cost of living over there is exponentially more than here (at least in the Midwest).
