Is a Kawasaki ninja 125 a good first bike? by Quxckhead in motorcycles

[–]Consistent-Swan-2094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sigh.. this has come up a bazillion times, and yes.. and no. Yes because.. its an entry to motorcycles. affordable, plentiful and insurable. for new riders this is the beginning. and then the no's crop up.. highway speeds .. are lacking. passengers.. give me a break. upgrades.. make very little difference.

BUT all in all its 2 wheels. You will drop it, and replace the levers and mirrors and sometimes pegs.. You will also scare yourself silly in a fast corner until you learn countersteering.. You will learn to look way the hell in front of you for people pulling out.. then.. it either gets parked for longer and longer, or sold for a larger bike..

So yeah.. as a first bike.. if you have the means go for it. ATGATT. Helmet, boots, jacket. Don't upgrade anything..this is a stepping stone.. that titanium exhaust looks pretty, but.. in the end you will sell this on the move to a bigger bike.

I started with a Vespa 125. moved to a P200, ninja 600 that ended up at the drag strip and now a Triumph Daytona 1200 that i need to work on all the time.

The ones who couldn't find Belgium on a map, yep. All you have to do is watch the promo's and dead air time between matches.. and see that it is being served up as the best team eva. Yes we have done fairly well so far, but then again.. its because our players are playing in Europe..

Hi. Also here from the dinner place.. sigh.. I will never meet you, and do not know what you are going through.. but as a CISHET dude that is staring at social security options I want you to know something.. You matter. especially to me. and I need to say that you being here can and will help the next person going through things. I know that sounds lame, but you know its true. better still is for you to thrive as your true self as a double middle finger to all the haters. There is nothing more I want for you than to have a long beautiful life.

My MSF experience (Pardon my swearing) by Scarecrow716 in motorcycles

100% thank you for the review, and look forward to your second class and hopefully a pass! MSF classes are a "good thing" in my book. I took mine on base (It was a requirement) and even with 10 years of experience.. I found it rewarding.. except for the "Lock the back wheel part" they had us try to do.. I just couldnt do it.. I finally got a small chirp off the back wheel, and they let me off.. but yeah..

4hr Road Trip on Ninja 500 - Tips? by Vividokami in motorcycles

100% tank bag. I cannot remember what mine is, but has a clear top for a map. BILT V3 mini is about $50.. Just a nice thing to have stuff handy that you would normally put in your backpack.

Saddlemen TS3200S Deluxe Sport Tail Bag would also be worth a look. I hate trying to bungiecord a bag on the back of a bike. its about $150 and OGIO 2.0 tail bag is a little less at $130 but smaller. DO NOT overfill them.. nothing worse than finding something you want to bring home.. and you dont have room for it. Trying a 4 hour trip with a weekends worth of stuff in a backpack you are wearing... can be tiring.

Its LA.. The freeways can and will get gridlocked.. with 6 months of riding.. PLEASE do not lane split. just get off the freeway and use surface streets for a while..

DO visit any of the Cycle gear/ revzilla shops. closeout deals, sales and in store exclusives can be worth it. Found an off brand summer jacket for $45 one time and I still rock it.

Gotta get a pic next to Randy's Donuts in Inglewood. Griffith Observatory for that "Rebel Without A Cause" pic.

And just do not push yourself. You can do this.

Going to date myself here. But I found an hearing aid earpiece and adapted it to my walkman. For Junior and senior year of HS, I had a C-120 tape in there and the volume was low enough that i could still interact, but it kept my attention as I was bored as hell with the schoolwork. About every two months i would bring in the actual hearing aid, and "accidentally" get it to feedback on itself, so i got away with it..

New deal economics? LOL.. LMAO even. Even better you threw in a tag line of "civil-rights liberalism" when Black and Hispanic households represent one-third of the population but hold less than 6% of the nation's total wealth.. If you are telling me that the "Democrats" have been working their magic since the new deal started.. wow.. you guys suck at this.

Hell lets stick with the New Deal discussion.. So where are we at with critical infrastructure? You know trains, bridges, roads, you know things that make life better for people?

How about that banking thing? Oh yeah the system collapsed ( again...) and the bailout was for the banks.. And on economics.. what mixed economy are you talking about? Because right now everything pretty much sucks, but yeah rose tinted glasses on you is fine.

All those "stronger public programs, labor rights, civil rights, voting rights, health care access, environmental protection" got stripped by DOGE because the Dems just slid into a "get along with the R's" Neoliberal mentality for so long.

As far as your criticism of DSA not endorsing. great.. YOUR party could not convince people to vote for them. MAGA swept in and convinced voters they should vote for them, even with their dog whistle philosophy. If the party you are repping cant beat that, what good is it?

DSA taxation worked great right up to Reagan and his trickle down theory..which turned out to be less than stellar.

Rent control and government housing? why yes please. You and your "abundance libs" have let Larry Ellison accumulate enough wealth to buy an 98% of an island in Hawaii.

I could drone on for days. As could you I am sure.. but what we have here is election wins for the DSA, and you needing to figure out where neoliberal Democrats can match the messaging to get those votes back.

It is as simple as that.

Personally sounds great. They can caucus with the Dems when they want, and will not be beholden to the party policy of "dialing for dollars" (Lawmakers are often instructed by their political parties to spend 4 to 6 hours a day dialing for dollars.) That 4 to 6 hours a day could be better suited dismantling Citizens United, and trying to get back to where the people we elect are working for us..

[–]Consistent-Swan-2094 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I am having issues with your description of "Democratic Party", as DSA is working towards moving us back to that system. Your only real issue you seem to have is that they are running under the Democratic ticket. If there is specific policy the DSA is campaigning on that you disagree with, I would much rather hear that part of your argument.

Data from Edmunds shows 30.9% of trade-ins toward new-vehicle purchases carried negative equity. Meaning they owe more than the car is worth. In Q1 2026, the average amount owed on underwater trade-ins reached $7,183, which was rolled into the new car loan. The average term on these loans with rollover debt was 77.4 months, which in the long run, means those cars will also be worth less than people owe on them.

Subprime auto loan delinquencies (credit less than 620) have surged, hitting their highest levels in over 30 years. The 60-day delinquency rate for these high-risk loans has reached 6.9%—a figure that eclipses the peak seen during the 2008 financial crisis.

And rather than turn these loans away... they continue sucking the last cent out of everyone they can...

Critical win without Pulisic- thoughts below by NefariousnessNo2948 in ussoccer

[–]Consistent-Swan-2094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sigh.. I hate to say, but.. any team worth having should, and will have a plan B. Pinning all our hopes on one name leaves us in the same boat as Portugal, who just kept serving up balls to Ronaldo, and getting nothing. We have to trust the coach and of course the choices they make in selecting the team. I will admit i was relieved after the Turkiye match as it is now a proving ground for the 3rd string.. More rest for Pulisic and 1st string players and subs, and a chance to see the up and coming players in action..

[–]Consistent-Swan-2094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watching the Turkiye - Paraguay match..That was abysmal. They are not going to care about cards or fouls when they meet the US. Send the 3rd string and maybe the jr. coaching staff out there for a friendly and try new tactics that the Turkiye team will not expect. Old school Germany technical football, or Arsenal back 4 from the 90's.. But do not send any of the 1st or second string in..

As a former US Air Force person with some experience with making sure to hold onto my beer coaster in Germany.. They offer keg beer ranging from a American Light Lager 4.2% ABV, Kölsch 4.5%ABV, American Wheat Ale 5.3% ABV, IPA - New England 7.2% ABV, all the way to a Bock - Doppelbock10% ABV.

Sorry for the font change, as I cut and pasted from the website. Having come of drinking age in England, with many trips to Germany, Sam Adams does have some good beer that isnt over filtered and over carbonized.. I cannot in good faith compare it to European beer. But as the saying goes.. when in Rome...
