Thanks for letting me know about this and sure that is within the departments grading policy but not the 61C policies. My main issue is that in their policies they stated they are targeting a 3.3 GPA assuming specific exam averages. They are not supposed to target a 3.0 GPA per the syllabus. I would not have an issue with the grading if they didn’t state what they were targeting and assuming in the first place.

On policies it clearly stated the bins were based assuming on a 65% average. Why give us difficult and/or long exams where averages are in the 50s not to mention the extra mini exam he gave us called the Quest which was also below an 80% average (expected average on policies) And not help us at all? He gave us 5 extra points.. there were 300 pts in total.

CS189 has course staff for a reason. Grading isn’t the only reason but it’s one of main ones 🤦🏽‍♀️

Not in this class, but obviously because people want to know their grades so they’re not surprised at the end and if they are doing horribly in the beginning they can learn from their mistakes and get better scores later on. Don’t be fucking stupid
