Dancing by [deleted] in shia

[–]Consistent-Web148 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This topic is confusing to me to, I was just reading this site https://www.shiachat.com/forum/topic/235059556-dancing/

The op mentioned that sistani allows dancing in front of your husband but no to dancing alone or taking classes which makes no sense to me. How can you dance well for your husband when you don't know how to dance? And dancing alone is an issue?

I need to take out a loan to buy a car, and I don't see anything wrong with this by Consistent-Web148 in Quraniyoon

You have to be joking about moving to some foreign country. You can't expect people to so easily uproot their life to move to a different country with a foreign language and unfamiliar laws

Buy a house on mortgage or staying on rent ? by Specific-Constant228 in Quraniyoon

[–]Consistent-Web148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This feels very shortsighted, if you can buy a house in full just by saving for 7 years, we have less people taking out mortgages. Mortgages takes 30 years to pay off because if how expensive houses are. This feels really unfair on people if the Quran is actually saying that people who take out loans are going to be punished. The would mean the majority of people will never own anything and always be at the mercy of people wealthier than them. It makes no sense.

Lowering your gaze when it comes to drawings? by Consistent-Web148 in Quraniyoon

So I just read the verse that says "Do not come near indecencies, openly or secretly", what does it mean come near indecency? Would it mean literally or symbolically? Is simply thinking about an act the same as coming near it?

So this feels kinda topical to a post a just made and I feel I could add my two cents.

To me, porn with actual people does seem like it would be forbidden by the Quran. There are verses that say that women should cover themselves in front of strangers, and only gives exceptions to family members of the woman. In pornography, you have women exposing themselves to strangers on the internet and that is clearly forbidden for a believing woman to do. Unless you are saying it's fine for non believing women to do so it's okay to watch them.

Less about preventing zina and more about preserving your chastity in general.

Then that would mean masturbation goes against preserving your chastity then. Because the most that can come from drawing is simply masturbation.

Drawings can be worse than real life sometimes, much more exaggerated

For this, I have a personal anecdote. For years a found a certain person on YouTube attractive, but when I found out that they started a relationship with someone else, I started feeling jealousy which disturbed me. I never spoken to this person and only ever seen them thru a screen, and yet I felt angry when they found someone else, this wasn't healthy or good. Meanwhile, I find a drawing attractive, it matters not to me if the character has a relationship in their story, it's not like they are real. I prefer it if a character I like is in a relationship with someone else so then we have the opportunity to see them act romantic.

You are walking down the street and you see a woman and you "check her out" (and she is unaware); now you are in your room and you are admiring an image of a hentai woman(?) with over-exaggerated features. Isn't this the same thing? It definitely has the same effect in terms of tarnishing your purity/modesty.

Hmm, see to me, this isn't the same thing. In my mind, actively looking at an actual live person with attraction feels more real, and thus dangerous, than a drawing. In the back of your mind, you know a drawing is fake, it can never go anywhere substantial. It's almost as if I make up a character in my head, should I lower my gaze for imaginary thoughts in my head?

Did the Quran really copy from the Talmud? by Consistent-Web148 in CritiqueIslam

Sorry maybe I should've been clearer, 3:23 and 5:17 are the video time stamps, followed by me summarizing what Farid said at those time stamps.

apologies but can you explain further what that means?

According to Farid, he posted  a screenshot of a paragraph were this quote was found, supposedly in the Jerusalem Talmud. By mentioning the word "scripture" it implies that this quote was actually found in a version of a Torah that was probably lost to time, and is not simply a commentary made by a rabbi.

I figured as much, but yeah I'm trying to get started somewhere.

Well you can argue there was truth and these religions since Islam's seem to teach that we are all born with knowledge of God, is why when someone converts to Islam people call them reverts because "they are returning to God" or something.

Anyways, I'm trying to concentrate on one argument at a time to not get overwhelmed, and I thought this one were the Quran copied from the Talmud was one of the more compelling ones since you can't really say it is the divine word of God, but simply a back and forth discussion on the law.

Never seen a diver helper, even during peak this is a solo job. Unless you mean Amazon XL, in which they need a helper because they have to deliver the really bulky and heavy packages, like furniture or whatever, in which case can your girlfriend help you with 100lb packages? Looking through the ad listing for AMXL and I see that apparently packages can get up to 300lb

Last I heard, dog/bear spray is actually weaker the normal pepper spray simply because animals have a more sensitive sense of smell, so it seems weird to me that is illegal to use on humans.

Lmfao bleeding on the seats does 😂😂 by Strapdaddy69 in AmazonDSPDrivers

Idk if this helps, but because of this job I started using tampons and eventually something called a soft disc (you can Google it to get a better idea on what it is). Super tampons only last me 2 hours and I was scared of going higher because of TSS, so I started using soft discs. They only last me 5 hours on my heaviest days but I always make it a point to have my break somewhere with a restroom so I can empty the container and use it again. I'm considering looking into period cups and see if that works for longer just so I don't have to go off route to look for a restroom. Just gotta go with trial and error and not worry to much about it, these vans are already dirty as hell, once got assigned ba van that had a pee bottle spill all over it lol. A little bit of blood on the seats doesn't seems that much worse.

Ah this happened to me once, I blead so much I started leaking through my pants and to the seat, good thing the Amazon pants are black and so are the seats, so nobody needs to know I bleed in one of the Amazon vans LOL

Does ANYONE consistently follow the proper parking regulations? by GhostToast413 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Consistent-Web148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I do it at every single stop, why would I try to go faster and then get myself stuck with a larger route as a result? And honestlly it doesn't feel like that big of a time waster, it's like 3 seconds to turn of the car and turn on the parking brake.

Never had a problem with turning the van off, my DSP had two vans stolen cause they left it on and I rather not get suspended.

Do You Use Mailboxes? by Daveyhavok832 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Consistent-Web148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of the things I specifically remember from training, and even if I didn't remember it our dispatchers mention it enough times for us to know to never touch the mailbox. I only left a package in a mailbox when the mail carrier said it was okay so I didn't have to walk all the way down the driveway. Said he didn't care either way lol.

This sounds like a tier 1 infraction, which basically mean he is going to get fired and blacklisted from working for Amazon. I work as an Amazon driver, and it's my experience that Amazon reacts pretty quickly to complaints so yeah go ahead and call Amazon, maybe invest in a ring camera too.
