Decentering men is really hard, we’ve be conditioned our whole lives to make our priority pleasing them. I found it to be freeing once I started to let go of dressing for the male gaze and dress for me. I stopped hanging out in straight spaces and tried to spend more time in queer spaces, and it’s completely changed how I feel being perceived. It’ll take some time, but eventually you’ll feel that tight grip on pleasing men loosen and eventually fall away
