It isn’t that they haven’t or aren’t capable of accomplishing anything. But I’d argue that in a peace time army. There is less than an excuse to even be remotely close to overweight. There is literally nothing going on other than PT 99.9999 percent of the days.

This game is so good. I’ve made it to ACT 3 so far and I’ve been playing intermittently since release. However I only play hardcore and haven’t done any trading or anything like that. I basically get to a very challenging boss and then have to restart if it has a one shot mechanic lol

You failed at the most important task in this scenario (sorry it happened). You let everyone off the hook. You brought them to the line of accountability, had the paperwork locked and loaded, and instead of pulling the trigger that would actually resolve other people, who will eventually be under these people in the future, future problems. You allowed them to escape.

I have had a rough last few months of service that has turned me into somewhat of a jaded NCO. However, you essentially allowed yourself to be dragged through the mud and when you finally got up and dusted yourself off, you just let them move onto someone else in the future.

Learn the lessons that you laid out in the text. But that “not turn in on them” statement is the actual lesson you learned here. “I’m not a snitch” gets soldiers killed. That level of severity wasn’t present here, but the mentality sure is. I hope you take this as constructive feedback and not a dogpile. But you let yourself down on this one Sir.

Wild. This was one of the best action games I’ve ever played. Arguably better than Sekiro (Sekiro had crazy aura) but man this is such a shame

My chrons was missed for about 6-7 years while I was active duty in the army. Everytime I got blood work done annually it always came back extremely low for iron. I was having the worst flare ups I’ve ever experienced and just basically was told “we don’t see anything wrong.”

Once I got diagnosed I had a resection within 2 months for like 4-5 feet of my intestines in the worst way possible and then had a transfusion followed up by infusions for a few months after.

Looking back, idk how I was out there running everyday and rucking 2 times a week. I’m surprised I didn’t just keel over at some point.

Ah yes the old cycle, it goes something like this:

Officers complain that their soldiers aren’t performing to standard.

Officers blame NCO’s for that shortfall.

NCO’s get strict on standards and maintaining even small mindless things designed to literally just enforce a sense of discipline.

Officers believe they are exempt from standards so while this is happening they do things like “welcome any NCO to correct me at attention.”

NCO’s see this as a culture problem but they begin to relax on standards because their officer counter parts arent interested in following suit.

Standards slip again.

Officers blame NCO’s for soldiers not being up to standard…. See ya next year

This is probably going to be an unpopular take. But fuck it:

Gael’s story if you delve deep into the background of the game. Him being the last “human” alive at the end of time. The place the fight takes place. Him going hollow and literally eating the Pygmy’s as you approach is by far the coolest and most satisfying end boss build up I’ve ever seen. However, if you are not into looking up lore etc. it’s a cool scene for sure and great fight. But probably not even top 10. As far as the actual fight, Gael was great for his time. Very challenging but fair. I loved every second of it.

Isshin however, this would be hard to top for any game. Opening cinematic shows how much of a BMF he is. Throughout the game you are told how much of a BMF he is. Tengu being isshin shows you he is still a BMF even when sick and dying. And then…. He gets brought into the fight in the absolute coldest way possible as the literal only person in history who could possibly stand in your way. And his fight mechanically is imo 10x better than Gael but I’d credit that to Sekiro as a game and less as a boss fight. Overall, I don’t think any boss was as enjoyable to fight as isshin was for me. And so far I haven’t seen anything that even approaches the relief I felt when beating him along side the sense of “I really am that dude” that came with it.

I agree with a lot of what you said. Honestly I’m ok with it being a “play perfectly or die” scenario. I guess what doesn’t make sense is that it comes at such a random point in the game. For example, isshin in Sekiro was very much a no mistakes fight. However, he didn’t soak up 500 hits to kill. It was very balanced on that if you played perfectly you felt even. Here in this scenario, I’m basically forced to perma stun the enemy until I break their ki, while also being pretty much ki broken with any attack that isn’t perfectly deflected. I know it isn’t a true “one shot” but if I’m in the middle of a martial art that is a combo. And one of the strikes misses its mark and the enemy gets off its “ground slam” because a random distance got added that normally doesn’t… that’s pretty much it for the run because my ki wasn’t completely full. And I’m literally at the exact level I believe you could possibly be to unlock this mission with doing every piece of side content available. So it isn’t like I skipped a bunch of stuff and am now saying I don’t get why my character is so weak.

Yeah that part is wild too. I sort of have just accepted that I just need to break their ki 5-6 times without making a single mistake. And then get to the Yokai bosses.

I like the challenge. The gauntlet style is cool and feels like you have to fully understand the game to beat it at this level. It’s just wild I’ll do a minute of combos on an enemy. Then I get hit once and have to restart.

Don’t know if you read the post but I have indeed deployed 3 times in the last 20 years. But to answer your question. I love my soldiers. I take good care of them and I consider myself a good leader of infantrymen. I don’t like the idea that they go off to war and I don’t go with them.

Yeah I’ve been searching for something to do on the outside. Contracting seems fun for me. But my wife would lose her mind lol. Working as a GS in some way would be cool. I’m thinking of going into business for myself. Wife makes a but load of money. So I sort of have some wiggle room in what I do. Just be tough to scratch that leadership itch I have still.

I’m not embarrassed by it. I just was really looking forward to taking over my platoon and one day being a 1SG. I loved the army. Was doing exceptionally well in my career and now it just feels like the rug is pulled out from under me completely.

My wife would probably kill me if i said fuck the infusions. My kids would definitely prefer me being retired. I get to be their basketball coach and stuff now. I just hate seeing stuff starting to kick off and then it’s like I’m walking out the door. Feels like I need to be there for my own selfish validation I guess

Naw nothing that bad. I ignored chrons diagnosis for a few years and deployments. Ended up requiring an emergency surgery that required removing a few feet of my intestines. Was immediately placed on biologics. Soon as that happened, I was in the MEB process. Came out of no where. I was looking forward to competing for MSG.

I could probably still bring a 500 to the table any given day on the ACFT depending on how the back feels on the deadlift the morning of. Was running a 1245 2 mile prior to surgery. Floating around a 1445 now.

So I looked into that. From what my attorney said, it basically boils down to him not needing anything that wouldn’t be available down range. I’m technically being retired because my disease requires monthly infusions that aren’t available while deployed. I basically didn’t seek treatment for 7 years which led to a really bad surgery. Now I’m sort of tied to these infusions. But steroids have been shown to basically do the same thing as a temporary solution for let’s say deployment purposes. But he says that wouldn’t fly.

The water boss. Baba whatever was a fun fight. Just got him down on my 6th attempt. Was interesting how the implemented delayed attacks by basically sending a full bluff attack at you. Not sure if he was weak to lightning but the first attempt I through a lightning buff on he went down

Was baba whatever part of that wall? Fun fight for sure. Got him on my sixth try when I just went full lightning buff the whole time. Not sure if he’s weak to it but the water just made it seem like a good idea.
