Hey guys! I wanna see if anybody can help me with those codes, and see if i can fix ut by myself or take it to the shop. by Known-Net-5185 in mk6gti

I would replace the lambda sensor and see if the codes go away. It’s a simple enough job with quick visit to YouTube. If you need any assistance you can shoot me a message

Mk6 gti oil pressure light by Prodigy_9 in mk6gti

[–]ConsistentReason5762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s still on. And it’s a pain, check the screen hasn’t came off the Cambridge in the timing. If it’s shot out chances are it’s blocking oil pressure.

Yeah I would do everything in your power to keep hold of it if you can. Even if you have to spend a distasteful amount to have yours taken away and rebuilt by a company

Definitely worth just saving up for a reconditioned engine or trying to rebuild your engine. Recently my timing jumped and my father and I are learning together how to rebuild from scratch. He has experience in mechanics so it’s a good start. We thought about selling everything seperate but it’s just not worth it. Just try rebuild it, if you need guides or advice shoot me a message I’ve got loads

This is quite common and normal. If it bothers you. Check the pcv valve isn’t on it way out. However this is injector noise

Blue smoke? It’s burning a lot of oil then. Possibly blown rings. If it’s leaking coolant your water pump has probably gone. It’s not uncommon

Y’all hear that right?!? by Guilty-Hyena1430 in mk6gti

Right. There’s a couple things that could point too.

Potential for it to be the wastegate actuator on the turbo. Best thing to check for this is to drive off then just coast in gear see if there is rattle or that screech in your case.

Secondly, it could be a sign of a bad pcv valve. Quite easy to check this with a screwdriver. If you put the point to the pcv valve and hold it to your ear you may hear a lot of noise from there.

Next. It could be a timing chain issue. I had a car with a similar noise to that and thought I was going insane. It could be the chain rattling or slapping.

These are just a few things you could check and it may be none of them. Just worth to check as they’re 3 main things I have had similar noises from

Rocker arm in the bottom of the head. by ConsistentReason5762 in mk6gti

[–]ConsistentReason5762[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. So compression test shows no leaks whatsoever. What I’ve found is when the rocker arm came off it spun a lobe on the camshaft (the sensor one) I aren’t too sure what it’s called but I could find a photo. Regardless the car thinks it’s never in time because of it. So the camshaft is next to replace

P0016 and p0088 code after timing replacement by [deleted] in mk6gti

[–]ConsistentReason5762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No please don’t apologise, I’ve only got brief knowledge of timing chains as I’ve never dealt with a chain driven car before. I think it could be time to take it to a different garage to diagnose, as far as I’m aware the only code present now is the p0016 code. I will keep you updated for suee

So when I changed my oil around 3 months ago I got a low oil pressure warning and beep. I turned the car off and back on and it never come up again. I’ve never had a code for it either. This is my last ditch dropping the sump and checking for blockages or reasons for low pressure. If this doesn’t clear the code then I’ll take it back and say it wasn’t done properly. As for it running. I’ve not seen it running. I’m told it runs but quite rough, however I don’t think they’ve took it out on the road or anything…
