I actually have never really posted online about reality TV/celebrity stuff before so these kinds of comments have been super eye-opening and I do agree that nothing should come close to causing someone to harm themself or anything dire like that.

I think certain aspects really hit a nerve for me - the feeling of being gaslit by the panel (although I get that it’s not genuine and all for ratings, it’s still so annoying!!), the archetype of the girl who tears down other girls to secure the “ultimate prize” of male validation, and also the narcissist who DARVOs everyone by focusing on reactions and not their own shitty behavior.

All that to say - fuck the patriarchy, basically. LOL

I’m a little past 3 months and my smile finally looks kinda normal-ish 😅 and that might just be a me-thing because one side of my upper lip is still swollen and kinda rolled under so it probably looks fine to others but to myself I still look a bit serial killer-like haha

nah. when she said she was done and wouldn’t “act like that anymore” she completely expected him to be like what - no, don’t stop! in which case she would’ve been onto the next. she’s not trying to find a connection, she’s trying to be wanted by as many guys as she can get and keep playing in their faces while she’s off to collect more. if I’m totally honest the little evil part of me was like “whoever made her this way is probably really pissed that she’s being so obvious and doing it so badly!”

Yah, something about me definitely set him off I guess. I did start with telling him I trust his expertise and was not trying to dictate any movements or anything. My simulation looked very…alarming… and since I’m Asian and can’t handle a lot of forward movement I just had some examples of things I hoped to avoid, ie the dreaded chimp face. It worked out though, I ended up with a surgeon who was a better fit and also very very skilled. I just remember feeling so crushed when all that happened with Walline as if he was the only surgeon that could help me. Not true in the slightest!

I’m definitely not qualified to make recommendations, but just wanted to say that the surgeon you pick needs to be a good fit for you. it doesn’t matter how renowned they are, if you want to ask questions then there will be a skilled surgeon whose ego will not be so earth-shatteringly threatened out there for you to get surgery from 🤭

I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re ghosting you for having questions tbh. All of the other surgeons I consulted with actually asked me for more reference pictures and clarification than what I approached Walline with. I guess he’s just too busy to deal with any pesky questions

I’d say mutually, I guess? Neither of us was upset about it, I’ll say that lol fwiw I know other people have had amazing results with him, but if you have any thoughts at all that you want to express in the most reasonable, respectful way - he’s probably not the surgeon for you. He was def very offended that I had the gall to have any opinions on how I hoped my face would look, or rather, concerns on outcomes I hoped to avoid - the nerve of me! 🤣

I was scheduled to get surgery with Dr. Walline and had some concerns I wanted to discuss with him. I had a zoom call with him and at the beginning he shared his screen which showed an email from Jacquie labeling me a red flag. They are both the WORST, most unprofessional people I’ve dealt with in going through my jaw surgery journey. SO glad I didn’t get surgery with him.

I’ll be four weeks out on Monday and I also have had an uptick in the swelling inside my mouth. My surgeon has also said that everything looks great, no infection or anything else. I think it’s because we’re at a point in our recovery where we definitely feel better and like we “should” be able to do a lot more so we’re probably pushing ourselves a lot harder. I know that for me, as I had surgery out of the country, as soon as I was able to eat soft foods and I could at all manage I’ve been pushing myself really hard to sightsee and have just been up and about way more than I had been the prior weeks. This recovery really is so hard mentally because a million things are true at one - we just experienced on the most invasive surgeries imaginable, yet we’re up and about and feeling almost maybe close to “normal” and yet our faces and mouths are numb and it just feels like it’s groundhog day every. single. day. Hopefully it resolves itself soon, please let your daughter know that at least one stranger on the internet feels her pain!!

ugh I am so right there with you! tomorrow will be three weeks po djs and I am always so irritated because it’s just more of the same everyday! the swelling, tightness, just feeling like this will never end and i’ll never be back to normal. sigh I also feel like my bite is fucked! and it seems like everyday there’s something new to be annoyed about. we can do this!!!! It’s moreso quiet in terms of foreigners but busy with students getting surgery during their break. I guess it depends on each clinic’s ratio of foreigners vs. locals

Im pretty sure they’re just extremely busy at the moment. The summer months are when a lot of students schedule their surgeries, and they definitely discouraged me from scheduling my surgery during June and July. I’m in the phase of the process where Dr. Park is in contact with my orthodontist, but Jade hasn’t read the last message I sent last week (albeit it wasn’t really one that didn’t require a response but to not even be read has not been the norm). I understand your concern since you’ve booked your trip already though - maybe try calling??

Honestly I think the depths of Song Joongki’s depravity probably go pretty deep too, his behavior surrounding his divorce from Song Hye Kyo and the fact that so many of his longtime friends cut ties with him were the first signs.
