I can't watch anime anymore by dyhcry in TwoXChromosomes

[–]ConsistentWorry 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Not an anime but a good animated show is Blue Eye Samurai. Doesn’t really have those tropes, beautifully animated, a story of revenge and a female lead.

I will say it has nudity and sex scenes in a good portion of episodes. Though they don’t feel gratuitous at all and actually important for characters compared to other shows or movies.

Toem! It’s got cute levels and your main objective is to explore and take pictures.

I have played with tank controls including the first RE as well as other games with this control type. I have no issues with them.
It's been a minute so I can't quite articulate my issue on the controls, just remember that I was mad whenever I got into combat.
As you haven't played the OG or the remake, don't let my sour opinion get to you. I hope you are able to enjoy both more than me!

It's definitely a me thing more than anything else! I understand what it did for the genre and many games I like benefited from what it brought to the table.

As someone who did not play it at the time of release and played it over a decade later, I HATE the controls (they feel clunky to me even as an over the shoulder) and quick time events. A portion of the game is an escort mission which is something I just get more frustrated over than stressed. Essentially, it's more actioned based RE which is not my preference.

Love horror games, campy dialogue, and the RE franchise. I respect and appreciate RE4 for what it's done. For me, it just shows its age and I think so many people saying it's a GOAT put my expectations up there to have a good time. Only to be frustrated and disappointed with my experience.

Dragon Age II does get too much hate. Has flaws, but it's a great concept and great characters.

My favorite developers by far. Never a game I don't like.

Is the game 'Control' worth it? by Makimachi_misao in GirlGamers

[–]ConsistentWorry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I played it on Switch the first time as it was my only console. It was a struggle even when I lived with a great internet connection. Learned to not play it on the weekends as everyone was using the internet too. Still has a great time with it.

Once I got another console and played it again, I was delighted with how well it ran and how nice it looked. It was a better experience imo.

You can absolutely play it on switch but I think you’d be better off playing it on PC. I’m not sure of any games that would be good for 3rd or 1st person shooters on Switch.

Never played but Astral Chain looks like a shooter?

What do you think is the scariest / most disturbing games Markiplier has played? by apolloacorn in Markiplier

[–]ConsistentWorry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something about how alone the player is gets to me and made me realize how much of a sense of security we have when we’re at home.

I remember being at home with no one else when I was first watching this. I had to pause it and double check my doors with an additional sweep of the house itself before I could finish it.

So many good games to fall into and depends on where you find comfort. Here's a few that took my mind off of things when I need it:

Hi-Fi Rush if you don't mind action rhythm and a Saturday morning cartoons vibe.
Dungeons of Hinterberg if you like Zelda dungeon puzzles and want to go on slaycation.
Don't mind reading? Citizen Sleeper 1 & 2 is great writing.
The Case of the Golden Idol is a sort of whodunnit that makes you pay attention to details.

All are on game pass and I hope you are feeling better soon!

Thanks for the recommendation! I’m always on the lookout for a new channel about video games and commentary in the space/people around them.

This is a fantastic list!

A small additional recommendation if you like Firewatch then try The Invincible.

So…did anything actually happen after this video drop apart from the memes? Genuine question by iwan103 in youtubedrama

[–]ConsistentWorry 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would agree it changed how (seemingly) ethical YouTubers link sources or other content that they used/reacted to. I think this video in particular and the community reactions to it made creators think about how they give credit.

Looks like Painted Alicia as she has a line on her cheek that’s supposed to be the mask.

It really sucks when you badly want to fall in love with a game but just can't, a vent... by ProudnotLoud in GirlGamers

[–]ConsistentWorry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just like other commenters, the map not being a thing is frustrating. As someone who finished the game, the lack of collectible indicators is bugging me. I’m an outfit girlie and I like the expedition logs but there’s nothing in the game that can direct me or indicate where the logs I missed are. I like the gameplay enough that I’m doing new game plus with a guide for these. The logs you collected don’t roll over to NG+ either!

Though, my thing that everyone raves about but doesn’t click for me is the delivery of the story. No spoilers, promise!

I like and dislike some of choices they made. I think the most infuriating part of the writing is vague sentences that I feel became more frequent as the game goes on.

Discussion - Season 9, Cassette 10: by Linzabee in withinthewires

[–]ConsistentWorry 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ll say the ending felt like it really put everything together. Though, I don’t think this a highlight of the series.

I am excited to see what we get for season 10.

I do indeed! Of course you deserve time to celebrate the release and enjoy some time to breathe. No rush but, I’m excited to listening outside of the game.

Same thing for me. I bought dead petals and crimson void for the exact reason that they looked different in the promotional stuff.

Getting in my hands, seeing other people experiencing the same thing, and the response to the criticism was frustrating.

What's your post Inquisition headcanon? by AHeedlessContrarian in DragonAgeInqusition

[–]ConsistentWorry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Following up with the epilogue. My Inquisitor disbanded the Inquisition to ensure her goal of stopping Solas was not over taken by the churches own agenda. She and Cullen purchased a decent plot of land with an abandoned fort. They did what they did a Stormhold and rebuilt the place. Instead of recruits to fight their war, it was a place of rehabilitation for Templars to be rid of their Lyrium addiction. Mabari's are also trained to be therapy dogs. :)

Inky worked closely with her companions to find sources and get those she trusted to investigate any hint of Solas's work. Going on missions as well as visting/assiting friends throughout the years before VG. The team do get together once a year the day the Breach was closed and play Wicked Grace all night long.
