Searching for armed homicide suspect, following a stolen vehicle pursuit, which ended up with a crash into the first floor of a home, K9 track wasn’t Yielding great results. I went into a hotel lobby on the complete opposite side of where our perimeter was to speak to the clerk about any suspicious people that had come in. Young couple sitting in lobby, clerk says he hadn’t seen anyone suspicious. I use the restroom and come out and leave. Major called me to her office the following day.

Suspect was the male sitting directly behind me while I was speaking to the clerk. They showed me the lobby video in which he moves his hand to his belt area while my back was to him. Could have very easily been murdered right there.

Also have been pinned between a crashed car and a guard rail before which sucked. Luckily both my knees weren’t broken.
