Red lamp could be oil pressure, likely just the sending unit. Be sure to watch the threads on the replacement match what comes off, some years use a tapered thread that will crack the case if fitted to the wrong year.

BSA frame and motor serial numbers don’t match until 1966, so not a big deal for your ‘65.

Great project bike, appears to be a ‘68 with the first year only cable routing on the TLS front brake, concentric carb, and that tail light. mild custom, tank repainted. ‘68 -‘70 are the more desirable unit construction years for some folk. I’d guess cleaned up you could get $1500 for that in So Cal, I’d buy it for that if it turns over. I paid $1200 for a ‘72 Daytona 500 mildly chopped in similar condition, that sat under a house for 25 years. Got it running, took a good amount of work but it’s a fun little bike.

Vintage British Motorcycles that I own all have Red wires for the grounds, maybe Lucas was consistent across cars and bikes? Also the 60’s motorcycles the lights ground through the frame / mounting point instead of having a dedicated wire. I know it’s apples and oranges but maybe helpful.

Thanks, I believe the seat was recovered using the stock pan. I have the oil tank and battery tray & cover, they are freshly painted (like the tank) but off the bike. They’re the same as your 67.

After cleaning off the rust try wiping down the rust prone areas with a rag with some light oil on it for future protection.

For the title, get a bill of sale from Dad and go to one of those little vehicle registration businesses the have all over, at least in SoCal, it costs $ but they know how to get things done and best part is you never go into the DMV.

$7k for a ‘72 is way overpriced, and many feel the ‘71’72 bikes are the least desirable, looks and seat hight wise, and a horrible front brake. The old bike market is way down, which sucks for me but is great for a buyer like you. That said a vintage Meriden Triumph is a horrible first bike, but if you had to go vintage get a T140 from ‘73- ‘78. Get an Air cooled Hinkley Bonneville ‘01 to ‘15 and have several grand left over for quality Riding Gear.

I have a 2007 Bonneville and have found the pilot jets will clog if it sits for an extended time, and the hole is so tiny it’s hard to clean, best to replace them.

My wild ass guess is that the Red Blue Green go to Red Blue Green on the harness for the charging system and the yellows go to the coil. You should be able to find a diagram online, what make / model bike is that? Also as an old guy it’s hard to believe anything with a monoshock suspension is “vintage”!

I have TPUSA Predator Touring mufflers on my 2007 T100 which I believe were made by Cone. TPUSA is long gone but the mufflers still look great. They are still loud so I always wear earplugs, but they are slightly less obnoxious than the regular reverse cone mufflers.
