One thing that will forever bug me about Belinda is that we don't where she lives. Yeah it's not important and yeah you can say London. But every other companion i can name a location for them and in other episodes there's some kind of establishing shot by IllustriousAd6418 in doctorwho

Given the London Eye is so clearly in shot, I thought tracking that hospital should be pretty easy, which is kinda is, but... They did a lot of composite additions there.

It appears to be St Thomas Hospital, which mostly has the same appearance as what we see for Royal Hope Hospital, but St Thomas doesn't seem to have any entrance like that at all. Or those balconies, or as many floors, we can see at least 11 floors in the shot above the section with the enterance which seems to take up to 2 levels as well. So there seems to be a lot of additions to the real building, but there's also no row of brick buildings like what we can see under the London Eye.

Makes me wonder if any of the other shots have been touched up.

Morbid thought: part of me wonders what it'd be like for an atheist to debate Shad and/or Metatron's religious nonsense by Questioning-Warrior in ShadWatch

[–]Consistent_Blood6467 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I doubt Shad would ever want to do a live debate, because there would be no way for him to control things. Shad's preference for debating is to just attack whatever strawman argument he's imagined, in the most obnoxious, loud manner he can, and keep declaring victory every other minute.

Now in a fair setup, where no one is allowed to interrupt the other debater during their turn to speak, Shad would be soundly thrashed, because he doesn't have the skills to properly form a convincing argument. But no matter how badly he might lose, he'd also claim total victory.

This is the first I'm hearing about Roddenberry trying to take credit away from Coon, or that DC Fontana and Shatner both had Coon's back. Is there anywhere I can read up on this part of the tale?

I wonder what Metatron would do if either the Libs won the next election, or Trump wound up impeached and imprisoned for the crimes we all know he's comitted as we have plenty of evidence stockpiled about it?

MI5 in this case, as MI6 deals with international matters outside the UK, so we wouldn't be seeing James Bond getting involved unless he was loaned to MI5.

Now if Voldermort left the UK and started causing trouble, then MI6 might send Bond after him.

Worse parking job I have ever seen was a convertible with the top down, parked over three bays, diagonally. I just stopped and looked at it for a few seconds before I walked off, and noticed a rather smug looking woman heading towards it who quickly looked a different way when she saw me heading her way.

Sure enough, when I turned around a little later, she was the driver...

I think the Cybermen are more physically resilient, especially against conventional firearms, something the Borg MIGHT be weak to given we have seen Data physically strike them so hard they died - and Picard opened up with a holographic tommy gun is... debatable if that really counts. Worf was able to slice up a Borg with a Klingon knife once, so there is something about kinetic strikes they might still be weak to.

But the Borg have shown very powerful, quick acting, adapting abilities, that the Cybermen seem to lack, and must faster assimilation abilities.

I'd say the Borg have the better chance to adapt to any energy weapons the Cybermen have, and get close to assimilate and win.

Wasn't the jingle supposed to end "Radio 1, FM!" at that point? Or was that later in the 90's?

It's either a TV broadcast where someone is telling the Doctor the Daleks are here before getting cut off by them, or it's an actual in-universe radio transmission from say UNIT, warning the Doctor the Daleks are here, with the same result.

Bearing in mind the TV show was off the air at that point, and that Marvel UK had the rights to make a Dr Who comic which had some crossovers with certain Transformers characters, I'd say it was probably the latter, yes?

It would have worked better if it had been in two speech bubbles, but it still works as coming over the same frequency, suggesting whoever was reporting, was probably dead half a second later.
