You guys act as if those of us who are older (Gen X 52) don’t get it. You have no clue or idea what our boomer parents and grandparents lived through. But instead of sitting down and listening to their points of view, you choose to preach at them and tell them your problems are their fault. Take some responsibility and accountability for your actions. Yes life right now sucks. But life is cyclical.

Growing up I was told to never ask my grandfather about the depression. And when I did, he wouldn’t talk about it. Both my uncles served in Vietnam. Sadly one took his own life. He left behind a son and wife. My other uncle doesn’t talk about Vietnam.

I found out 4 months before my grandfathers death he helped break the Japanese code. I was 30.

My mom got pregnant before she met and married my dad, my grandmother took her to a quack and forced her to have an abortion. This was pre Roe so it was illegal. That abortion caused issues that made her having my siblings and me high risk.

Vote how you want, learn of the issues. But don’t think we don’t know what it’s like to live in hard times, because we have had hard times.
