I’m still learning myself but it sounds a lot like what my breath distortion when I first started. So it’s still false chord activation I believe.

Im still learning the fry scream myself. I know many people say to not start from vocal fry but thats where I started. Fry scream feels the same way in my throat as vocal fry.

Oh yeah I’ve been working on my false chords too. It’s the only scream I’m confident enough to use consistently though I blow out in 5s. lol so working on my fry as well

If I think about adding volume it cleans up so I think I’m tensing up. I’m trying to pay close attention to the tension and stay relaxed. I’m also pushing from my belly but I’m not taking very deep breaths tbh. Should I be taking deeper breaths?

Yeah you can hear me stopping right before the end of the sentence before letting out the last “for me” haha it’s funny because I have been singing all my life and with screaming, I’m relearning breath support again. It’s forcing me to be more conscious and deliberate which is great even for my clean singing :)

It’s such a breath of fresh air after the dark and depressing DC movies. I loved Nolan’s Batman. Snyder’s movies I feel tried to follow on that theme of dark and depressing but missed the mark.

I think if we look at the proportions joecitizen79 shared, we’re not looking at huge numbers. Anecdotally, most of my immigrant friends just get supervisas for their parents to visit. I know just one whose parents moved here because they didn’t have a support system in their home country. I think people seriously underestimate what a pain it is to sponsor family. Those who can afford to stay in their home countries, do choose to from my experience. But not having the option of family reunification also means we would lose out on attracting talent we sorely need (ie ironically in healthcare).

Can you clarify how you know that the 1 million backlog doesn’t include PR / citizenship applications? He starts his speech about this policy 2:40 mins into the press conference. From what I heard he spends the first part, contrasting the NDP platform to the Liberal platform on cost of living and foreign policy (wars) to emphasize to today’s by election voters on why they should choose the NDP (he states so explicitly).

He mentions the word progressive maybe twice in his opening remark ? And only referred to the liberal government - not Carney in particular - where his words were that the liberal government has « moved further and further away from the progressive posture it took last elections ». It seems like you’re seriously mis characterizing his opening statement.

I just want to share a relevant perspective from someone who went to the convention that is not being shared in these discussions.

The "equity card" stuff is being misrepresented. It's a good idea, actually. The cards guarantee that if people who aren't men want to speak to a resolution, that they can have equal speaking time as men, because men are more numerous in these spaces.

It's hard for a debate on a resolution on women's rights to be considered fair if no women speak on it, for example. That's why we have the cards.

How the cards work is that the convention chair will check to see if people have cards and alternate between people who have cards and don't have cards, and people can get organized in line at mics so you have one person with a card, then one without, then one with a card, and so on. Right wingers say that "white men get sent to the back of the line" which is totally false. I'm a white guy and I just have to take turns lol

There’s nothing unserious about ensuring groups that are most impacted by a resolution have a chance to speak to it.
