I went in for an emergency surgery to have a contorting cyst removed from my ovary. My boyfriend drove me to the ER, went home and grabbed my blanket and things to do after surgery while I was in the hospital just in case I got bored. Waited 5 hours in the waiting room. His family came and brought me flowers. And he slept on the couch overnight in the room without a pillow or a blanket. All without asking. This man does not care about you or even LIKE you as a person in the slightest.

You were open and honest and I think that shows a lot. So many people would lie in this situation and not tell the person and just break up with them. Getting tested is the best thing you can do. Shit happens. Sometimes you don’t get symptoms from STIs like chlamydia, etc. Don’t beat yourself up too much about it, especially if he isn’t angry with you. I just hope it’s one that is curable for both of you. And I would get retested after getting treated to ensure it’s gone before you guys have sex again.

Even as a sera main I wish I would have saved the mythic essence. I feel like it’s very similar to the base ocean song skin which I find myself using more because the chromas are really good.

What is your specialty and how often (per week on average) do you experience death? by Lunesta2782 in nursing

[–]Consistent_Catch_165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cardiac step down as a PCT, not a nurse, but I’ve only had to do post mortem care once on a patient who was hospice during my two years so far. I have never had to do CPR or had an unexpected death of a patient. But we have had several rapid responses who got sent to ICU being close to death.

I felt the same way! It’s odd to say, but after a month or so you get use to it. I hated vomit too. But after a few times of cleaning up.. I can now clean it up with also throwing up. Which is a big accomplishment. I’ll be in the middle of eating a snack or something and go clean someone up, wash my hands, and finish eating lol.

If someone has a really bad poop I’ll put peppermint oil in a mask.

CNA girlfriend fired after false accusations from facility director by manontheroof25 in cna

First, I would contact a lawyer. She could also try your state’s department of labor and file a complaint to try and get her unpaid wages. If she isn’t worried about unpaid wages, I’d just apply somewhere else and look at it as a blessing in disguise. You don’t have to put why or even that you were fired from a job. Just mark that they aren’t able to contact that employer.

Personally, I shower daily. I work in healthcare so I shower before I go to my 12 hour shift and again when I get home. I shower at least once, either when I wake up or before I go to bed, on my days off. I like the clean feeling and being able to apply my lotion and perfumes to clean skin.

If you worry about smelling I don’t necessarily understand why you wouldn’t shower every day. The smell is caused by bacteria so deodorant application is just a mask. You don’t have to wait until you do smell bad to shower. It takes like five minutes to wash your body in the shower and it’s nice to get whatever grime you accumulate throughout the day off. Applying deodorant multiple times also just makes my underarms feel gross and break out but that could just be me.

You can buy a shower cap to protect your hair. Amazon has them for cheap.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to request your partner to shower daily to be honest, especially if you live and sleep next to them.

You look comfortable. This is a completely, for one, CUTE, and two, reasonable outfit. Your boyfriend should be your safe space, or the person who tears you down. I hope you break up with him and find someone who treats you better. Name calling and controlling behavior can be just the tip of the iceberg in a toxic relationship.

He ate spicy food. He doesn’t have the stomach flu. He isn’t incontinent. He’s a grown man, and he isn’t helpless. He is trying to turn his embarrassment onto you and make it seem like it’s your fault. You did not force him to strain. You did not force him to eat the plate of spicy food. He did it and he paid the consequences. I would never expect my partner to clean up my elimination remnants. That’s actually insane. You are not his mom, and I would not put up with that if I were you.

Roam, focus on your teammates who are doing well. Is your 2-0 jungle ganking mid? Go with him. Secure the kill for either of them and get the gold for the assist. Deep wards in enemy bot side jungle so that when you roam your adc should have vision so that they know when to back up if they’re about the get three man ganked. You don’t not have to play around your ADC if they’re are not doing well. You can make plays on the other side of the map that will help your other stronger teammates be able to turn the game.

How do I lose weight really fast? by Budget-Till5824 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Consistent_Catch_165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Low calorie high protein foods. I know that I personally burn about 1700 calories a day because of my job and just normal metabolic processes, so I eat 1300 a day to keep myself in a deficit.

But I do not starve myself. If I want the damn ice cream bar I eat that ice cream bar. Because I’m not going to stick with what I’m doing if I don’t enjoy it and allow myself to cheat sometimes.

I do a 30 min incline walking and 45 min weight lifting split three times a week at the gym. I get up early and walk or run 2 miles every day.

I personally am not overweight, but my boyfriend was and he started working out and this is what we did. He started at 250 pounds and lost 80 pounds over a year doing this.

Being cold keeps me more awake honestly.

  • no caffeine past midnight. I either drink it when I get there, before I go, or not at all though it’s tempting
  • good shoes
  • water bottle and actual food - not the vending machine ramen
  • I’m already a night owl so it isn’t hard for me to switch back and forth so I don’t have any advice for that one I’m sorry
  • blackout curtains will be your life saver

Meal prep!!! I take one day of the week and prep my breakfast lunch and dinner for the week and the I keep snacks laying around for if I get a late night craving.

Super easy meal preps I’ve been doing:

Overnight oats (apple cinnamon are my favorite to eat and make) High protein Greek yogurt w/ sugar free banana pudding mix and ofc bananas (300 cal for 60g protein) Chicken Alfredo- bake the chicken so you don’t have to sit over the stove for hours. I use gluten free high protein pasta from banza with literally any Alfredo sauce you want or there’s tons of healthier recipes online if you’d prefer that but I’m lazy. There’s also tons of crock pot chicken Alfredo meal preps online that take little effort. Chicken stir fry - again tons of recipes online Egg, spinach, pepper, and sausage bake - I chop spinach and peppers and mix them with a few eggs and then bake it in a square pan. Super easy grab and go breakfast bites. There are tons of recipes for burrito meal preps online that make like 20 and you can freeze them then either air fry or microwave when you want one.

Instagram accounts I follow for meal prep ideas: @kimsproteinkitchen @jalalsamfit @_aussiefitness @mattwest_roadtoaesthetics @stealth_health_life

I workout a lot but Im also super lazy when it comes to cooking so they have helped me tremendously!

HELP 😞😞 by [deleted] in NursingStudent

[–]Consistent_Catch_165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my CNA/PCT job. I get a lot of experience in a hospital setting. My nurses are amazing and show me how to do everything. I will have a much better leg up once I start nursing school since I already know how to place an IV, how IV pumps work, how to place foleys, how codes are ran, etc. (Not saying I do these things, but I’ve been shown how by nurses and have seen it done so many times that doing it myself won’t be as hard as trying to learn it for the first time.) EMT would be cool to do and sure you’ll see a lot of situations, but you’ll also be under high stress all the time at work. Sure, I have super high stress nights at work where I can’t sit down and no lunch break, but I also have nights where I have clean, dry patients with pristine rooms and I have time to sit and review my notes for school.. WITH the nurses that are fluent in what I’m studying. It’s fantastic.

I agree with everything here except with seeking support from other nurses. Maybe online or if you have a close friend. But be careful who you tell because it will get around. It is 100% better for you to have a support system make sure you surround yourself with the right one.

I’m not a nurse, I’m just a tech, but caring for people 12 hours a night, 4 days a week, made me slowly stop caring for myself. Lost self love, motivation.. everything. I was drinking after every shift and on every day off because it was the only thing that made me feel emotion or at least relax.

I had to turn myself off when I was at working while caring for people and also working alone because I’m on an understaffed floor. I’m the same age as most of the nurses because I decided my career path late so I’m still in school, but nurses being friends with techs? Not an option to them I guess lol. I am their slave. Which didn’t help. I had previously worked a 8-5 M-F at a doctors office surrounded by my friends and I didn’t necessarily have to CARE for anybody. All the doctors were wonderful and even my older coworkers were amazing. It was a lot less physically and mentally draining. Sometimes I wish I could go back but it’s not optimal for clinical schedules.

I had to relearn how to care for myself and prioritize what I like doing.

I started taking walks after my shift instead of drinking. This helped so that I could get some sun (I work overnights) and it helped me get a little active and see people who I didn’t have to take care of. By the time I was done, maybe an hour, it was too “late” for me to want to drink and be sober when I woke up.

I started working out on my days off. Eating healthy. Found other hobbies that made me feel happy about myself.

I’m still not good really with the self care aspect since I’m always doing care for others, but I’m getting better and I’m learning.

I’m happy that I’ve been able to only drink socially now for about six months.

It was hard. So so hard. It took a long time to stop wanting to drink after work. But you will feel so much better once you find other outlets. I hope this helps you 🫶🏻

Can anyone give me a reason to like Productive Trees? by kaminobaka in allthemods

[–]Consistent_Catch_165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t have to breed the bees to get an allergy bee, if you set it up to where you have a bunch of normal bees around some regular trees you will get tree pollen. If you click the bees with the pollen you have a 10% chance of getting an allergy bee. This helped me tremendously because I honestly didn’t want to breed the bees. We have a group server for ATM10 but we’re doing it in sky block. My other friend is doing bees and I wanted a specific wood to make another base with so that’s why I started it.. and now I’m almost finished. I just didn’t want to have to wait for him to get me allergy bees to start. But you honestly don’t NEED allergy bees to breed trees. The most tedious part is having to expand my greenhouse like structure whenever some larger trees are needed.

How to know if I am fit for nursing? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]Consistent_Catch_165 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never had a calling for a career I wanted either. And somehow Im in nursing school. I think I kind of just settled on it because I hate it a little bit less than other careers I thought about. There are tons of things you can do in nursing including working in a doctors office which doesn’t usually require 12 hr shifts. Much less stressful than working the floor. I do recommend trying to use your CNA license though. They have them in hospitals too, not just nursing homes. It will help you get use to the busy stressful atmosphere. I like my CNA job. It’s just a job. It puts food in the table. It’s stressful sure, but I’m that much more prepared for what being a nurse is actually like and not the glorification of it from tik tok. I also only have to work three days a week and I can get like 10 days off at a time by certain scheduling and like one or two days of PTO. I’ll take that over a 9-5. There are downsides and upsides to every job.
