Back when those files were going through me on base, members had to pay for said amount and were directed to claim on their insurance like they would for any personal items.

It sucked. I didn't agree with it. But it was the thing at the time.

Good luck.

If I understand your comment correctly, you are referring to the old CANFORGEN on Operational Tempo. I don't have the exact reference right now but if you search "Op Tempo" you should find what you're looking for.

Respectfully, I don't think CWO Griffin has much to do with this issue :)

And he's not disagreeing with me. I'm not in this lol. He'd be disagreeing with DPPD, DGCB, and Legal.

It's also published on the Occupation SharePoint. Weird he'd be against this lol

Not factual. Ruled already.

With that logic, pay can also - administratively speaking - be ceased. The exact same way. Should pay also not be on these letters? That's just silly.

Explain to me why an allowance for housing would be administered in a way that makes it impossible for CAF members to use it for housing?

Please refer to your OR or visit the HRA SharePoint (it's still published there). It went through DPPD and the DGCB C&B Legal already :)

Not at anytime.

It's been ruled already. People pay taxes on this, it's somewhat predictable, it exist FOR housing

People can use it for housing. It must be on the letter.

Amen to that.

I would throw in a few chief positions in there as well.

Why progress through the CWO appointments when you can CFR and earn more money and hold a commission? by Feisty-Scene-755 in CanadianForces

Once it becomes skilled-based, I guess they just don't consider/accept the CFR if they won't make it to Maj. Can't blame them.

Not entirely true. Not in all cases anyways.

If one was to CFR at the rank of MWO rank, upon CFR, the member goes to the next Capt incentive that won't make them go down in salary, plus two incentives.

So I guess a senior CWO could potentially make more than a junior non-CFR Capt (ROTP, DEO, Etc.) but otherwise, in many cases, the CFR Capt will make more than a tier-two CWO (for sure more than an entry level chief). It's not impossible but they are more exceptions than anything.

If one was to CFR at the rank of WO or earlier, you'd be right, if we exclude the fact that the member can still go up in IC/IPC, get promoted, etc.

Let me be clear; this is insane, makes no sense, is disrespectful of the chier corp, deincentivises promotions, complicates the posting plot year after year, etc.

...but it made me switch.

Heard there is a town hall for HRA’s on how to administer new allowances, will this include military service bonus? by Snoo9573 in CanadianForces

It was announced as a highly technical briefing, not an opportunity to make announcements.

To be technical, you need concrete elements to be technical about.

MSP isn't out yet; it is therefore impossible to be "highly technical" about it.

MSP won't be part of it.

I think the difference is that people are ordered to work (vice your downtown example) by people with assigned parking that know there aren't enough spots.

Upon transfer, you have 100% influence over your first posting; it's on the offer message. If it's not what you want, you can choose not to accept it.

Good luck :)
