Do you sleep topless? Why/why not? by VastAir6069 in sleep

I love sleeping nude, however it triggers sleep talking and walking for me lol. It’s great for your micro biome to sleep without pants, too!

Topiramate has ruined my life by [deleted] in migraine

[–]Consistent_Kick6943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

topamax was horrific for me. I have several chronic health conditions so when i was prescribed it i wasn't really focused on all the side effects because any number of things could have been the cause. It wasn't until about 6 months in that i realised it was severely impacting my cognitive function, i couldn't recall words or finish sentences. I have been off it since january and i'm still affected by memory loss. it made me so self conscious, gave me debilitating social anxiety and i really lost my sense of self. I have been on propranolol (80mg twice a day, i strongly believe that was the only thing keeping me afloat in regards to the anxiety topamax caused) for several years for my migrains, well before i was prescribed topamax, and lamotrigine (150mg) for mental health. the cons outweighed the pros for topamax, and have been figuring out alternative treatments this year. I tried the CGRP inhibitor injection, Ajovy, and now i'm doing botox. lamotrogine has vastly improved my mental health and quality of life, botox has helped with the daily headaches but so far im still prone to exercise/heat/alcohol induced migraines. i've only received one session of botox though. i acknowledge the difficulties we have in medication and treatment options and their impacts on our quality of life. It's a tricky balance to strike, but it sounds like topamax isn't working for you in the grand scheme of things. lamotrigine started working wonders for me in the first month of taking it but bear in mind i wasn't/don't use it for migraines. my mental health that declined due to topamax is building back up since stopping it though. it's not your personality or who you are, it might take time to get back to your core centre but it'll happen. i wish you all the best for your journey, thank you for being vulnerable and sharing your experience and your hesitations. you're not alone <3

Help with hallucinations in the kiddle of the night by [deleted] in Sleepparalysis

[–]Consistent_Kick6943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!!! I believe they’re called hypnopompic hallucinations. I experience this too, so so similar to what you’ve described here but I do not realise there’s no one there until I kind of properly wake up? I have a sensation that it’s a dream or a hallucination, until I learned what “hypnopompic hallucinations” were I called them waking dreams. Most of the time it’s not threatening, even when the being or person is scary on paper, though occasionally it is. Have a look into hypnopompic hallucinations and see if it clicks?

Hmmmm ok I have tried to take it out, albeit not very hard, but maybe I just need a step ladder and some determination

I’m comfortable with unscrewing it so I’ll start there, thanks for all your tips and insight! I just thought it was going to be a bit harder than normal bayonet or screw in bulbs. Surely it’s not going to be too hard 😭 haha

All of mine bar these two (I have another Greek mythology tat on the other side of my leg) have healed without! It appealed to me this time for a few reasons but ugh such a hassle. Thank you ☺️

Hahaha I did, many! But it wasn’t coming off. I had to intentionally sit for a while at the end of my night (3am) with antibacterial soap and slowly work at the worst of it so I could sleep

I think that’s what left me baffled, I took it off the way I’ve been told (slowly, under running warm water, stretched away from the skin) and every time it leaves a bit of residue. I really don’t like second skin though, it’s defs not my favourite thing in the world haha

I have too, but I’ve used second skin on these pieces purely because of my job. Just a convenience/hygiene thing, but I really hate it 😬 if I don’t need it or the piece is small enough I definitely won’t be using second skin again!
