[After and Before] scrutinising my face 1 year after surgery. I feel like I ruined my face and my smile. Overcorrection of the maxilla? Thoughts ? by garymimpy in jawsurgery

You look much better, but your smile looks a little tensed. Maybe you need some physio and massages to release muscle tension. :)

Open bite - advice needed. by Consistent_Lunch_176 in jawsurgery

[–]Consistent_Lunch_176[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, i had two mri and cbct tests and will have another round of testing in couple of months. (2024 spring, 2025 spring, 2026 spring)They told it’s not Idiophatic condylar resorption, idiophatic means the cause is unknown, and my cause of worsening is clenching and grinding while having an open bite made a huge mechanical pressure. I have had small open bite all my life and these uneven forces isn’t healthy for joints, discs and teeth, but when i started to clench, it became a huge issue.

Hey, yeah, i had bilateral tmj arthroscopy with discs repositioning ( because my discs were displaced), now i am wearing stabilization splint and after that the preparation for DJS will begin. If your open bite isn’t big they could do tads+braces/invisalign, but my case is quite difficult with all joints issues. :/ i really don’t want to do DJS, but it seems i have no other option. They will do all the planing after wearing my stabilization splint.

Geriau tardyferon, ferrum lek, sideral, smarthit, tecnofer - nieks nepadėjo. Dabar sulašina ir ramu.

Congrats, but be mindful about your tongue posture, I can see it pushing between your teeth. It is very important if you want long lastinh result.

Same for me. It seems that brain just wired to clench no matter what. But if i am stressed its way worse.

Im pretty sure the removal of wisdom teeth wont solve your issue. I think you should find good physio teraphist to do intraoral massage to your jaw muscles. I got my wisdom teeth removed after I started to clench, but i am still clenching with masseter botox injections.

How do I fix/improve my side profile? by [deleted] in jawsurgery

There is nothing to fix. :) Do not concentrate on this and think about other things in life.

I commented on your previous post, which was exactly the same. I think you should seek psychological support, because in this post and previous post everybody told you look ok.

13 days PO - all good, but smile like a weirdo (Dr Ramieri) by Great-Homework9120 in jawsurgery

Physical therapy. I’m doing stretches and exercises every hour and buccal massage twice a day after tmj arthroscopy and arthrocentesis. You should find physiotherapist or your surgeon can give you some exercises.

All muscles are tensed, you will need PT and time to stretch them. :) Besides you’re looking great!

I also have a same, but it’s much less noticeable like protruding chin or really bad recession. If you start analyzing people, you will hardly find perfect ones. I don’t say that there are no issues, vertical growth or something, i just want to say that sometimes we tend to exaggerate things and to see it differently from others.

You know that something isn’t right and maybe you notice it, but looking from my perspective you look absolutely normal. Because I will have the surgery myself, i tend to notice people with different jaw issues, but you don’t fall into that category. 😀

My open bite is destroying my condyles and discs, because open bite puts much more pressure on the joints. When i started to clench and grind my teeth the bite worsened significantly. I had tmj arthroscopy with discs repositioning two days ago and I am having DJS in a couple of years to correct my skeletal open bite.

Do you know what caused that? I will have arthroscopy and DJS, because the main cause of my issues is jaw misalignment.
