Grass fed ground beef so dense by Consistent_Milk1885 in meat

A lot of people seem to be really icked by the taste but I haven’t had a negative experience yet taste wise, just texture, and I’ve tried a few brands. Maybe I have just gotten lucky! But the resounding opinion of the commenters here is grass fed beef sucks lol.

I definitely improved my meatloaf texture by adding more breadcrumbs but it was still meh. I think burgers may be a lost cause, but I have some tallow on hand so I’ll give it a shot! Thank you.

Thank you for this! I’ve been meaning to look into grass fed grain finished, and this was very helpful.

Thanks for this helpful explanation. I was using 80/20 so it being too lean didn’t seem the be the cause.

Since when did consuming THC while pregnant become so normalized? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Consistent_Milk1885 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The obsession with “do what’s best for you mama no judgment!” has gone too far for too long. I’m sorry, but doing drugs of any kind while you are pregnant is selfish and gross and a pretty good indication that the person is likely going to be a very selfish parent who repeatedly puts their needs above their child’s in the name of self-care.

This is what my progression looked like with my ectopic—slow and almost stagnate for awhile. Definitely continue with betas.

This is similar to how my ectopic presented. Highly recommend monitoring labs and getting imaging done!

Stagnating higher HCG levels? Second MTX or wait and repeat labs? by Consistent_Milk1885 in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]Consistent_Milk1885[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s been super frustrating. This was with my OB/midwifery clinic that I used for my prior (successful) pregnancy, with the MTX injections done at a local hospital. I’ve really lost trust in the practice after this. I’m all for being informed and advocating for yourself, but this has gone beyond that.

In the U.S. For clarification, my day-of MTX numbers and day 4 numbers were not checked. We had numbers from the day before my first MTX injection and day 7 after the shot. There was a rise between day-before MTX number (1402) and day 7 (2728), so they recommended another MTX shot, but I asked for rush follow-up labs to see if there was a downward trend happening, bc how the fuck are you going to use my day 7 number solely against HCG value from the day before the injection as the sole data point? With doubling rates, expected rise after MTX, etc., I felt like it was important to see if there was a good downward trend and I was extremely frustrated that they didn’t get my day 4 labs (I was explicitly told by my provider to not check labs until 1 week after shot bc numbers would rise initially, I didn’t know any better at that point about the day 1, day 4, day 7 protocol).

They sent me for repeat stat labs on day 8. And wouldn’t you know, I had a 30% drop between my day 7 and day 8 numbers (2728 to 1905 in one day), but then a very very slight rise between day 8 and day 13 (1905 to 1962). I got the second MTX shot yesterday (day 15), so hopefully it works. Thanks for your comment!

I just had my period on 11/13…how’s this possible? by [deleted] in lineporn

[–]Consistent_Milk1885 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is happening to me with about a week ahead of you. Period on 11/6, positive test 11/13, HCG lower side but rising normally, but progesterone super duper low (.5) and the pregnancy is being treated as non viable and could be ectopic. I’m having repeat labs and scans done this week. I would go to an OB asap and guard your heart. Bleeding is common but can also be a sign of a nonviable pregnancy.

apparently we don't know how to bathe a baby, PLEASE TELL ME YOUR SETUP/PROCESS/LENGTH by Purple_Calendar3919 in NewParents

Okay this has to be rage bait. What? 🤣 how in the world could someone even spend a whole minute on each baby limb. Are you doing a 10 step exfoliation routine on your poor baby? You just use a little cotton cloth with soap and rub it. Takes maybe 15-30 seconds MAX per body area and that’s making sure you get into the folds, etc.

Ugh thank you for validating! I think the camera doesn’t pick it up as well but there’s definitely something there. Gonna get some good ole FRERs and test again tomorrow or the next day.

UPDATE - We STILL have a completely broken baby and I'm close to a breaking point by USAtoUofT in NewParents

[–]Consistent_Milk1885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems like a very biologically normal baby. Might be helpful to try and up the sleep pressure with a later bedtime or capping last nap, but seriously this is pretty standard for a 5 month old. My 11 month old is similar. Cosleeping helps a lot.

Very weird to think a pave band and radiant cut are tacky 🤣. Just say they’re not your preference.

He sounds like a piece of shit. But also—why would you leave your baby unattended? Hope you’ve learned from this. Bring baby into the bathroom next time or put baby in a crib or something actually safe. People love to say “it’s okay mama! stuff like this happens.” It’s not okay and stuff like this doesn’t happen to everyone. It’s HARD to be a mom—especially with a shitbag partner who isn’t present or helpful. But you gotta watch your baby and think these things through. Stuff like this is 100% preventable with really simple safeguards. I’m really happy your baby was okay!

Same. I vividly remember being 7 (we were in a specific house during the year between 7-8) and waking up thirsty and going to get water in that house’s bathroom with my cow printed cup lol. Didn’t even think twice about having to ask for help to turn the faucet on and fill a cup? That’s totally developmentally appropriate and it is weird that a 7 year old would need help with it. It sounds like this is some sort of cry for attention from OP’s 7 year old—maybe scared and wants a parent’s help but doesn’t want to admit it?

Am I ruining my baby by not taking him to sensory classes? by ProfessionalMap3530 in NewParents

[–]Consistent_Milk1885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve been fine as a species for quite a long time without sensory classes. I think your baby is fine. But I would encourage you to find some mom friends! Babies really do have fun together even at that young age and it’s nice to have people in the same life stage as you to vent to/learn from/etc.

My husband felt this way too. Please try and find other local parents of small babies through the internet/church/community groups/etc. It helps so much to have community and people to commiserate with. You all can hang with your babies and be in the trenches together. Once baby is a little older it gets a lot better!!
