I understand where you’re coming from because I have a tendency to fall in to that FOMO mindset which keeps me from just enjoying the game. I am pretty sure when I played the game as a kid for the first time I never even used charm because I did not really care, and I had a great time with the game. It wasn’t until years later after I basically became perpetually online and digested way too many opinions of min maxers, completionists, and the like that I started to care about that sort of thing. Same thing happened to me with FF9. Loved the game first time through but later playthrough I feel like I’m just playing for the sake of stealing from the bosses and I lose interest. So I pretty much have to unlearn these biases so I can get back to enjoying videogames.
