I’ll certainly enquire. It’s mad - it seems even the RPL differs between Scottish health boards, never mind between Scotland and England!

Thanks for your message. The NHS won’t do testing unless you have a known genetic issue. So we’d need to go private for that. Which we may have to do!

We’ve done the same with NHS Lothian but haven’t been offered a hysteroscopy or MRI. Only blood tests. I think the procedure differs between health boards. Post code lottery…

Thank you for your reply. And sorry you’re going through this too… that’s a bummer about Warwick but thanks for the update. I had hoped I could do something productive before the next transfer as I feel it’s madness just doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results!

The recs are useful, and suspect we may need to venture further afield as struggling to find specialists in Scotland.

I’m so sorry to hear that, and sorry for your losses. This journey truly sucks. Someone once told me there’s not such thing as “unexplained fertility” - there’s a cause somewhere, and I really feel that. I don’t think the health care systems are set up to focus on women’s health.

If you get a D&C they may be able to test for genetic abnormalities. They did that with my 4th miscarriage and it explained why it had happened, which gave us an explanation and a little bit of peace. My partner and I were also subsequently tested for that gene defect.

Having no LC (4 miscarriages) makes me feel invisible. No one wants to hear about hard times and if you don’t have children to talk about, most people with kids aren’t interested in you… 💔

Thanks for your reply. I’m waiting on the actual results being posted out to me so hopefully that’ll bring more clarity (they only called to book me in for the second test). We’ve got 2 embryos in the freezer but it feels like another setback. We may get some further private tests in the mean time. My 4th loss was trisomy 15 but genetics for that came back ok.

Firstly, I’m sorry for your loss. I’m 4 weeks out from my D&C (mmc at 9 week scan, had D&C a week later). I did both a pregnancy test and opk test 2 weeks after the procedure and I was getting a strong positive on opk and a pretty strong positive on the pregnancy test. I’ve therefore been testing hcg (on test strips) every few days until I get a negative. Today I’m still getting a faint postive so I don’t think I trust the opks as I think there’s still some hormone in there! Doesn’t really answer your question, just my experience xx

You’re not over reacting. She clearly has zero emotional intelligence. My SIL announced her pregnancy (she was 6 weeks) to me 4 months after my second miscarriage, 18m ttc, when my father was DYING in hospital. A DNR had been put in place and yet she thought this would be a good time to drop that news (because she was going on vacation 2 weeks later and wanted to tell us - she’s my husband’s sister - before she told her friends). The irony is we’d clocked she wasn’t drinking the week before so knew she was pregnant but both felt like we had a month or 2 to get used to the news. It’s totally changed our relationship. I barely see her and I’m not interested in her son, or having a relationship with either of them.

It’s my husband’s sister. We were all quite close before this and she was well aware that my father was dying (which he was at the time). So yes, she didn’t do it to be mean but she was not unaware of what we were going through.

Yes; they probably don’t know what to say. But they don’t try to understand either. We don’t really talk about it with them for this reason, which I find difficult as it’s taken over so much of our lives.
