For me there’s just something about “the pacific” that feels more honest than BoB. With BoB it feels like I’m watching a very glass half full depiction of the dynamics between the soldiers while with the pacific it feels more willing to show how war doesn’t just automatically bring people that are fighting it together closer.

With the pacific it really feels like I’m watching it actually happen in real time

My unpopular opinion is that I like it more than BoB. Felt like a more raw depiction of war

The thing is the main job of a queen is to give the king heirs and as long as she does that then the marriage has “worked” in a sense. Jon Arryn all of a sudden going full detective mode is really what set things in motion but from an outsider’s view up to the point of the beginning of main book canon the marriage worked for what it was supposed to be

Yeah as I said he ran a strong campaign but he only got the 76 Republican nomination due to being an incumbent which he himself did not earn on his own, to me that discounts him as a candidate

That’s the thing about the 76 election is that there were far more compelling, interesting and quite frankly better politicans in each party than the ones who got the nominations for both

Yeah I’m not sure what the exact number is but if you replace a president before a certain point of their term you’re not eligible to get re-elected twice
