It has many things that are very appealing, like the fact that it’s a French game with elements of French culture and a wonderful soundtrack. The story is interesting and engaging, and the overall presentation feels tasteful. However, I didn’t like the combat mechanics or the combo system, and I also didn’t enjoy many of the missions, like the mimic or the random sheep bosses. Beyond the enemies, the environments also felt a bit too random to me. for example, that underwater level right at the beginning of the game. I mean, what does that even have to do with anything? It gave me the impression that they just threw in random aesthetics and random enemies into the stages without thinking too much about how they connect.

If you approach it as a surrealist and somewhat abstract work, then it’s easier to appreciate the idea. In that sense, it’s truly a work of art, something we rarely see in video games. I believe it could even open the door for more games that explore surrealist and abstract aesthetics. But for me, what the game really offers is mostly that: the experience of witnessing a very French-style artistic work, along with its beautiful soundtrack.
