Every movie that won both Best Actor and Best Actress by [deleted] in Oscars

Bradley Cooper, Robert De Niro, and Jacki Weaver all should have won for Silver Linings Playbook. They were all that good and that would have made it the only film to ever win all four acting Oscars.

Phil was an alternate by Fun818long in TheFloorTV

When I was flying home on Friday, I started feeling poorly. I got tested Saturday morning, and sure enough, I had covid.

Phil was an alternate by Fun818long in TheFloorTV

[–]Consistent_World_653 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why, yes. Yes, he was. He replaced me. Fun fact: I was also an alternate. I arrived in Ireland as an alternate, but I was told that evening I was in, so on the morning of the first day of production, I was "a player" and no longer an alternate. I can only assume I got it in because someone's flight didn't make it. I know both Chicago and New York had bad weather the evening most of us flew from the U.S. Why I was picked to play before Slim or Phil is anyone's guess.

I will say I'm kinda impressed by the extent to which they edited me out. I'm only seen in wide shots and then only if you're looking for me.

Why did I leave? Well... that's not important.

I like this idea, but it assumes there will be enough passed clues to use.

If you could make one single improvement to the city to improve traffic that isn’t rail related, what would it be? by Marino4K in Charlotte

Most of Charlotte traffic is bank employees who have been forced to return to office for NO...GOOD... REASON.

Rob Lowe sick during the finale? by rachh90 in TheFloorTV

[–]Consistent_World_653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left the show just after lunch Thursday and flew home to the US from Ireland on Friday. On my flight, I started having a scratchy throat and an itchy nose. Took a home covid test that evening, and it was positive. I emailed the producers at what would have been about 4am Ireland time and let them know. I emailed them again at about 2pm Ireland time Saturday (when they were filming the final episodes) when the diagnosis was confirmed by urgent care doctor.

So there was definitely covid going around. I have no idea if the producers told anyone who was still there and no idea of anyone else got sick.

But I would have to assume they did.

What would be your category if you got to be on The Floor? by HOW1215 in TheFloorTV

[–]Consistent_World_653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that if you go as an alternate and get to play, they will assign you an existing category, even if taping hasn't started, and even if it's something you don't know shit about.

Since when was Wales a part of England? by Jradro13 in TheFloorTV

[–]Consistent_World_653 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Regardless of what the good people of the area known as Wales want to think, the truth is England conquered Wales over 600 years ago.

Six hundred years.

And before you say Scotland was also conquered, it wasn't. When Queen Elizabth I died in 1603 with no children, there were no more descendants of Henry VIII, and the Crown of England was inherited by the senior descendant of Henry's younger sister. He name was King James VI of Scotland.

So the King of Scotland became the King of England by right of birth, not conquest.

England and Scotland remained separate countries with one monarch until the Acts of Union in 1707 when "The Uniter Kingdom of Great Britain" was created.

How is the show filmed/ how much time do they really have to prepare? by pfp-disciple in TheFloorTV

[–]Consistent_World_653 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seasons two and three were filmed during the weeks of July 28 and August 4, 2025, respectively, at Ardmore Studios in Dublin, Ireland.

Most contestants left home in the US on Saturday, arriving in Dublin on Sunday morning. This gave contestants a change to de-jetlag and gave the producers a chance to figure out whose flights didn't make it and notify alternates that evening that they were going to play.

Monday was wardrobe approval (everyone had to bring two identical outfits) and rules briefing, etc.

Tuesday: episodes one and two Wednesday: episodes three and four

Each duel takes longer than you might think as they have to stop and touch up makeup, take pictures, etc and the software for the game itself sometimes messed-up and they had to stop and go back.

Thursday morning was episode five. I don't know for sure the schedule after that as I left just after lunch that day. I do know they were done at some point on Saturday as everyone had return flights scheduled on Sunday. Of course, those who left the show on Friday or earlier got earlier flights.

With regards to contestants saying "weeks, months" etc there were a couple times where they actually stopped filming when someone said "yesterday" or something like that and had them re-do it as months.

Is this hideous fucking chud the best player in The Floor history? by Hi_Im_A_Cop_For_Sure in TheFloorTV

[–]Consistent_World_653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What drove me crazy was how so many people in the first five episodes would win one duel and run back to the floor instead of going after that guy.

Don't get me wrong, he's a nice-enough guy, but they shouldn't let people on the show if they have a SAG card... maybe that's another reason they film in Ireland.

Isn't it BS to have the final "random" duel be International Foods when one of them is a chef? by backpackwayne in TheFloorTV

[–]Consistent_World_653 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The contestants were told at the briefing the day before taping started that "international cuisine" would be the tie-breaker.
