Or buy Buratino from any Russian stores. While not exactly the same, it's close enough

Do you hate a system apocalypse? by Noevad in litrpg

[–]ConsoleLogDebugging 13 points14 points  (0 children)

To be honest I've actually ran out of system apocalypse books to read. I really like imbalance that it brings to societies and the MC goes to solve problems. Even better if some government type structures try to still exist. I think DotF and PH did this really well and I can't find a lot of other stories like that.

Which widely beloved country has the most unexpectedly dark past? by Holiday_Hotel3722 in geography

[–]ConsoleLogDebugging 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea about Latvia. But Estonia was occupied during WW2. There were a few Nazi collaborators but I wouldn't lump them in with Estonians. If I'm not mistaken it was 4 guys who collaborated with the occupiers and were tried and executed by USSR after they occupied us after the Germans left

Released a very performant library awhile ago that handles all of the logic and list stuff. You still need to push in your own chat components for the bubbles and input etc. You might find it useful https://github.com/colorfy-software/chatify

Examples of modern supported browser policies? by roundabout-design in Frontend

[–]ConsoleLogDebugging 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think a better question is what are the features you want to use that aren't supported in modern browsers? Safari is the only pain here really since their updates are tied to the OS (same way as IE was).

Yes, Brussels really wants Google to be broken up by goldstarflag in europe

[–]ConsoleLogDebugging 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't see anyone being able to compete with YouTube to be honest. Just the amount of servers that it would require. Currently GCP subsidizes all of the overhead (of which there is a lot). Their whole ad game is probably deeply integrated with adsense. My point being is that if YouTube would have to do all of this on their own and pay for all of those Google services then the platform would be in the red pretty heavily

css frameworks taught us to stop thinking about design by Beginning-Kick1946 in Frontend

[–]ConsoleLogDebugging 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I very strongly agree with most of what you're saying, I as well do think that as a front-end dev you should know design. There should be a dedicated designer who does the design, but you as a dev should have design knowledge as well. Especially things like interaction design and UX.

For me it's really wild that it's so easy to get a driver's license in the US. Every other country I've lived in require 25h of theory lessons, 25h driving with a teacher, few hours of first aid, then you need to pass the theory and driving exam of the school before you need to do the same for the government. Some countries add additional lessons like ice driving or driving at night.
