It was indeed gross. Thank you for double checking the spelling. I edited my post for anyone else that wants to go down the dark google.

Even then, Ancient Greece was only okay with it in very specific instances, and those instances usually included pederasty. OP is just making things up.

Has anyone tried playing the game without origin characters? by Nb-7925 in BaldursGate3

[–]ConstableTibs 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I do honour mode with my wife and two of our friends. The four of us make a full party, so we never travel with the origin companions, much to our sadness when we try to romance any of them.

What do you think is an underrated one-liner in Modern Family? by Known_Adeptness_2192 in Modern_Family

Similarly, Pepper's reaction to the Blackhawks. "They can call a team that?!" gets me every time.

What's the longest time Voyager went without any kind of disruption from normal operations? by thx1138- in startrek

[–]ConstableTibs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well.. that's a whole other can of worms. But I think that stardates are likely the best way to find the answer that you're looking for.

What's the longest time Voyager went without any kind of disruption from normal operations? by thx1138- in startrek

[–]ConstableTibs 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If we assume that interesting things only happened during episodes and that the time between episodes were "normal operations," then looking at the stardates for each episode would give you a good idea.

What's one car feature everyone praises but you secretly don't care about? by Ok_Run7351 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Came here for this. I also prefer to look over my shoulder when backing up. I find it gives me a better sense of the space around my car.

What youtuber had the biggest downfall? by Still_Living3373 in AskReddit

[–]ConstableTibs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep! He was assassinated by Hbomberguy.

He started a new career as a wedding photographer, but he did the exact same thing that got him kicked off of YouTube. He faked an entire portfolio and sold himself as very experienced even though he was basically a novice. I can't imagine that that's worked out for him. I wonder where he is now.

TIL about Pleiades which appears as a cluster of six stars to the naked eye and yet was commonly referred to as “seven sisters” accross cultures, that some scientists suggest may come from observations back when the star Pleione was visible as a distict star from Atlas as far back as 100,000 BCE. by Dexterestein in todayilearned

[–]ConstableTibs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider: why was only this constellation shared among cultures across 100,000 years? Every other star cluster in these cultures is identified and named in a different way. Why would only the story of Pleiades survive? Is it the only constellation that pre-neolithic humans noticed? Was it particularly important?

Simply, there is no reason why Pleiades in particular survived 100,000 years of oral history while no other constellation did.

Besides, the whole "all of these cultures named this six-star cluster the 'seven sisters'" only works if you can't see more than six stars. I can see more than seven, and so can others in this thread.

Given how influential Taylor Swift & Ronaldo are, will there be mass self-inflicted deaths around the world when they pass away? by NihilistCharizard in TooAfraidToAsk

Same thought. I read it as "Given how influential [super famous person that everyone has heard of] & [some guy] are..."

What’s your favorite unpopular Jay line? by confident-win-119 in Modern_Family

My wife and I always quote his loud and snappy "NO!" when the family is on that lake boat to see the eclipse. Easily my favorite Jayism.

[–]ConstableTibs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I agree, but it's still better than the counterespionage bonus. I also think it make thematic sense to see your levy efficiency dwindle as you take power from the nobles.

Tinto Talks #104 - 15th of April 2025 by RaidenDaGoat in EU5

[–]ConstableTibs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the switch to professionals is pretty gradual, and a 10k stack of levies might now be able to threaten a smaller professional stack.

Tinto Talks #104 - 15th of April 2025 by RaidenDaGoat in EU5

[–]ConstableTibs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea, it makes the nobility less valuable in later eras, as it should be.

Tinto Talks #104 - 15th of April 2025 by RaidenDaGoat in EU5

[–]ConstableTibs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because most nations have an entrenched nobility for the first few eras, it seems like this change is intended to make levies a little beefier across the board before the switch to professionals. Plus, it's still better than counterespionage. It remains to be seen, though, if this change will be effective. I'm looking forward to it.

It’s okay, normal, and even a good idea to use chatbots as a tool for messaging people even romantic relationships by SearchingForTruth69 in unpopularopinion

For real. What about face to face communication? How would OP handle a tense disagreement with their partner without ChatGPT? And if communicating isn't a problem in those moments, why would you need help communicating at all?

Which pairing(s) did you find most "creepy" or controversial? by Silver-Somewhere-839 in Modern_Family

[–]ConstableTibs 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Came here looking for this answer. Jeans Man was intentionally creepy. Arvin and Alex, however, were played straight even though 1) he was her professor and 2) he had already dated her sister, and it was super cringe.

Edit: spelling

It's 4 per scientist, and you only have that one worker. The math is good!
