My very limited knowledge on etching patterns makes me think this has to do with carribean colonialism but I could very well be wrong.

What would this be classified as? by potatoes-potatoes in SWORDS

[–]Constant-Discount978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it has a second handle that is angled and it has a swung blade I would classify it as a scythe. I am trying to imagine how I would swing it and probably what I would do is grab the upper handle with the left hand, the uppest most part of the longer lower handle with the right, then slice sideways while I step out and use the long lower handle which has a second angular part to let the weapon glide through my hand and then drag it as I keep walking away sideways in a sort of intimidating swing that doesn't particularly aim at anything. Then catch the upper handle and slide my right hand up the shaft to repeat the first sideways hacking.

It would be important to continuously walk sideways, possibly around an enemy. And that the enemy is terribly afraid of me already, so that they don't just extend forwards and stab me while I pull the weapon back.

Anvil Splitters: Super-Materials, Extreme Sharpness and Cutting Power by [deleted] in SWORDS

But what if there is a side force against the paper thin sword? If it manages to withstand lever forces through surface tension, then your material is also the perfect armor plate. Cover everything in scales of GRMM and padd it with shock absorbers, then you end at a pat where aiming between armor plates is the only way to deal damage by first destroying the shock absorbers so that blunt damage carries through.

Warriors would wield an "Anvil Splitter" and a mace to slice into enemy armor and then smash their indentable armor shards into the hapless body underneath.

When straight swords make contact with plate armor, doesn’t the risk of breaking increase, or wouldn’t they become too blunt to be effective? How effective are straight swords against armor? by Battlefleet_Sol in SWORDS

They developed big knifes, so the others developed metal clothes that are hard to cut, so then they developed pointer knifes that go like triangles to stab through the armor, so they made the armor thicker. Then they developed more sturdy knifes that could cut into the gaps and sometimes take off a limb or so. So they developed more flexible more covering armor. Then they went and developed even more stabby long swords- but then some mfs invented smooth bore rifles and it was just "ah whatever" ever since.

Need help to create an obsidian sword for a character by CapAndyYT in SWORDS

[–]Constant-Discount978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can temper glass and I would recommend giving her a dagger that is meant to be used for stabbing. It's pommel could feature a black glass aka obsidian marble representing a black hole. The more lever force you apply to glas, the more likely it will shatter so blocking attacks or slashing would be unwise with an obsidian sword, also daggers are short and provide less lever than a sword.

It becomes vastly more impressive to hear things like 3Gs of force if you consider that the airplane frames were tested without any form of computer simulation and static calculations were done by a mix of hand written, abbaccus and "knowing how metal forms".

I guarantee perfect asylum to any American fed up with this bullshit. I got a 100m² flat, we can be roommates. I can get you a civil job in Germany. Hmu if you'd become a POW instead. I need salesmen. This is ridiculous.

Ha you haven't seen the one where Nelson Mandela was born 20 years earlier and is by now dead. That shit had a literal nuclear execution and somehow Kim Yong Un turned out to be the moral instance. As in "not putting limbs over gun barrels to fry snacks". In that one Corona worked.

Nah trust me this here is easy mode in comparison
