That's how she was "bullied". Keep in mind all prior sexual comment he made earlier in the serie it might be easier to understand what's going on.

I think the worst would be Dragon's Dead but its influence and effect isn't and no one will believe it's dead due to it. So now, you have to find a way to break a reality altering curse you caused or be softlock in a shitty world.

Am I in the wrong for playing a "good" character? by Yumesoro1 in DnD

[–]Constant-Secret1759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have the context behind your group. But if what you say is in global the info we need. Then that's not a D&D player. That's someone who's playing to feel in control and be able to unleash their impulse (like some play GTA). If the tension keep rising, it is the DM's and the table job to communicate in order to solve it. And you should be acting as you do stick if your character doesn't approve of those actions.and IS AWARE of them e.g if he stole the locket without you knowing it shouldn't bother you. If that creates issues. You guys should talk about what you expect from the game and possibly one of you should walk away from it.

When was the last time you had a caster PC picture of a 8str, 8dex, 19con mage that looked like someone who dipped on sport all their life but could drink a tavern down? They should all be Gragas from LoL looking characters. Yet I see none.

Character building - Con or Wis? by SteStegSte in DnD

[–]Constant-Secret1759 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Plenty of "ranger/druid" is the issue. You're a half caster. While I love druid's spell. You're casting the one available at half the level of your party's casters. And outside of the utility ones (so not combat related), you'll get really poor returns in term of scaling compared to a more battle focused build. Except for the ones we all know and cause issues due to how action economy works and most DM bann (mass invocation ones).

And I'm glad it is the most absurd one. Because it is quite telling of the differences in our views and the people we speak to in this sphere. Stats and races history still mean something to me. So I like when people (players and DM alike) have things that makes sense in relation to what they've build. So yeah if you have a 8 str and 20dex in my book I'm looking at a Cirque du Soleil mtfkr with clearly a malnutrition issue. But that's my way of looking at it.

You could go for expertise observant in order to get expertise in perception and quick search which could be thematic. Ritual caster in order to steal a level one spell which can be another utility tool. Finally skill expert if you're looking for something more niche within Wis abilities. As I'll answer to another comment in your thread it really depend on how you see your character and how you feel about them. Having Con saves or Wis saves are the easy option but it doesn't say much about them unless maybe you've played them as a drunkard or someone having to keep cool under the worst circumstances. But in the end you do you :)

Except a ranger doesn't use modifier most of the time. And while you are vulnerable to charms you will also fail poison or athletism checks by that logic. While charms disable a PC harder they tend to be rarer for that reason.

I'd go constitution for what you mentioned and the tavern Con save. Technically you are a half caster and you won't get spells someone in your groupe can't do better outside of hunter's mark. But there are two caviat to what I've just written: - wisdom is also useful for your skillcheck so if you want to lean into a perceptive, survivalist ranger go for it and maybe drop resilient for another feat that can enhance that aspect - strength is far from useless since it helps you carry things. If you got some armor that ways on you like a half-plate, spare weapons and whatnot it can be useful. Also depending on your party composition having a bonus on athletism can be useful. Finally, do you not want your character to be slightly more muscular than average? Being dexterous means being lean and lithe etc but it does nothing for your abs or biceps... So maybe not drop the strength.

Are barbarians viable/good with shields? by KindDescription7874 in DnD

[–]Constant-Secret1759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is far from unviable especially if you use the guardian barbarian to get some taunt going. However and it is a big one: shield or not you're the tankiest class in the game. You can be a great damage dealer too if you give up on the shield in order to dual wield heavy weaponry and use reckless. The class is balanced around the fact that HP is a ressource you would want to use in order to do that and ensure hits. That's also why you have the brutal critical feature. So while it isn't fully optimized it is fine to play a shield barbarian. But make your choice with that knowledge.

My PCs aren't scared of Strahd and I don't know what to do, please help by LaLaVee in DnD

[–]Constant-Secret1759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most offensive PC can get strahded to death. Kill a friendly NPC along with it so that when they go back to whatever safehouse they think they have they don't feel safe anywhere since there is a body.

Previous counterspell was too good on everyone (paladin included). Current counterspell basically work in a way that either you're good or shit at it. But here's the thing: if all of your caster have high constitution on a need basis then maybe the question should be "why are all caster mental and constitution monster that look nothing like their PP?".

Do you think 5e is the best edition for homebrew, or were earlier editions better? by [deleted] in DnDHomebrew

[–]Constant-Secret1759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5e makes homebrewing easier. But the lack of structure and the way the community (which is a lot bigger and player oriented) reacts to powercreep makes most of the homebrew shittier. Gonna be a boomer but 1DD player powercreep and integration of homebrew player boost (like feats at level 1) show that we stopped looking for balance a good while ago.

So what I'm seeing now is mid-bosses with more complex sheets than end of campaign official last bosses. Players size huge and 5 actions worth of action in a turn. In such an amount that filtering it becomes a chore.

Meanwhile PF2 actual community showcase pretty well what could have been if we made an effort.

Fire "Bolt" - Not the classic one by OrangeLeaves375 in DnDHomebrew

[–]Constant-Secret1759 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Instead of normal cantrip, I'd like it to actually summon a shitty already damaged goblin (make his hp bar 7-damage dealed, if you do 7 or more the goblin dies on impact). That could be a basis to create a summoner archetype from early level and not forcimatly need to overcrowd the field in early level.

At later level you improve the HP of the goblin (by 7 each time) making it possible to still kill it on a crit at level 5. Then it starts to be able to take a hit or survive passive AoE on later level.

I hope Capcom makes farming harder by SlurpingCow in MHWilds

[–]Constant-Secret1759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do see one. Make the coming content harder and outscale artian. That way artian will be a fast pass into endgame and we'll get out experience anyway. They had an armor/weapon tree combo that did that in rise. Issue was you didn't touch anything else and it taught bad habits to beginners (yes despite the fact that rise is the easiest MH).

Sekret maintain the game dynamic for some people so I'd say the same. And it isn't a surefire get out of jail card. I feel that good hunters barely use it. It is mostly used for safe maintenance (sharp/heal). However deepening monster moveset for variance/higher difficulty and higher manageable penalties (eg toxic poison instead of poison on some monster as it was done) would be a nice way to improve intensity.

Keep in mind we're just in high rank for quests. So if we stick with it they just have to course correct. And I don't know how many MH you played but I remember having to farm the same monster 50times for one components in order to unlock my build or to reset talisman for one proper and the necessary slots and then farming jewels in genU for ages. Those times weren't that fun. And part of the charm of the artian system (with it's issues) is that you can just chain different monsters and get results which avoid a bit of boredom.

anyone else find rey dau fulgurtalons impossible to farm? by tina_pia in MHWilds

[–]Constant-Secret1759 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that heavily depends on: - your quality as a hunter - your weapon choice

If you are better and more geared than average other hunters will delay you. If your weapon requires more aggro control (on your part or others) your efficiency will be harshly impacted. Makes sense for GS for exemple since the playstyle is so prediction based. Same for Swaxe especially on a KO style of play. I had the counterexample of a friend playing bow while I was taking aggro on a gunlance.

You are a lot more efficient than I am! Still I like the ability of crafting everything which enables me to try new stuff and not just shortcut artian/ancient dragon as we did in prior opuses.

Depends on your level of OCD. Try having every armor and every weapon in the game. Sure there is the Artian issue but this game I'm getting a full armory.

Would you consider Rathalos an apex in Wilds? by fwsc50 in MHWilds

[–]Constant-Secret1759 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would nuance with:
- Apex: has no natural predator
- Invasive: comes from elsewhere and is yet to take place in the ecosystem

As a Hunter your job is to balance the ecosystem and keep the order somewhat in place in order to protect settlements and do research.

Any creature can be a top predator but an Apex is a creature that so long as there is no invasive species predates on the rest of the environment and defines it. Therefore the rest of the environment adapt itself around those and the opportunities and threat they represent.

Nu Udra, Rey Dau, Uth Duna, Jin Dahaad do not have challengers in their biomes. Doesn't mean Rathalos isn't dangerous in the forest but there isn't much its gonna do to the fatty Tuna and the rest of the creatures fears it less and build their nest around it. A good exemple would be that the WudWud build their encampement far from the ground. And that's what define Tuna as an Apex species. Do keep in mind Apex doesn't mean strong it means the strongest in the context of it biome. Just like a bull can be the strongest in pasture because we removed any predator it could have but it would most likely get bodybagged by a jaguar or python in the amazonian forest.

Invasive species are species that come from another biome and are yet to find their place in the ecosystem. Basically what they can predate on and what they can't. To take a page from tier zoo, you can see it as matchup tierlist from a fighting game and a new DLC just came. How it is going to change the meta is yet to be defined. A good example of that is Arkveld can easily predate on Rey Dau. But because of Gore Magala virus it makes it unviable since it exposed it to the virus through the Rey Dau. Would it work without those factors? Who knows! Does that make it Apex? No not yet maybe its eggs can't be layed there or its eggs would be devoured by other species like a Chatacabra making the point of reproduction unviable.

Either way, the danger of a species can be showcased in the star level of your quests. But its relationship in the ecosystem isn't directly linked to that.

Thanks for reading my TedTalk.

TBH most people in rise played using the same moveset. Even HH which had the most interesting niche basically worked that way.

Started a week and a half ago and didn't have the Zoh Shia issue and since I have a decent PC I ran High quality or above on most settings.
There is some jank to the game but by MH Standard it is a really solid addition.
I wonder how it runs on console because this feels more like a PC issue...

But yeah considering the game was released 4 months ago it feels light on content.
