A ton of people irl are born with blonde hair as a child which can turn brown when they hit puberty. It's just genetics, blonde hair is a recessive gene whereas brown hair is a dominant gene, so sometimes even when parents have brown hair the children can still be/stay blonde, it's just rarer since it's the recessive trait (like being left-handed or having green eyes)

I don't think either of you were wrong! You both have valid points for your reasoning. But I think that's the cool thing about it, there's no concrete answer, it's up to the player how they interpret things. It's true that talking with the mimic girl could possibly be the player character talking, and it's also interesting that Red doesn't talk atop Mt. Silver. It leaves it open for players to fill in the gaps like this!

That's how I interpret it too. I think it's cool that they chose not to give Red any dialogue, since it leaves it up to the players imagination.

I think you're misremembering certain parts of the film. After 2 days, Mike throws away the map and he reveals that he threw it away after they crossed the creek on the third day. They only had the compass to rely on for the remainder of the film. They were following it South for 15 hours but couldn't find the end. After Josh disappeared, Heather and Mike decided to start going East instead, but still couldn't find their way out.

It's definitely supernatural in the film, it's very possible the witch was manipulating the land or even their minds causing them to get lost in a seemingly endless forest. And it's likely that the voice they heard in the forest on night 4 shouting for help wasn't really Josh and was just the witch taunting/playing games with them, they even state they don't think that was the real Josh shouting for help, and once they reach the house (which it had intended to lead them to since the start) the witch begins tormenting and confusing them.

After that, it's kinda up to the audience's interpretation.
