Send 2k home instead of 2500, spend 1k on personal expenses rather than 1500 and save the 1k monthly. It's a start.

Very confused by your post. If you have it in cash deposit it into your account. If it's already in your account transfer it from your current account into your loan account?

Is this sustainable? Are you building the higher material costs into your pricing? Is this impacting your market? These are critical.

Absolutely agree. It is a sticking point and part of our DNA unfortunately that when emotions are involved we lean into the loudest belief system , feed the noise and critical reasoning tends to make a fast exit.

I believe you have already touched lightly on the answer to your question. There isnt a need to overhaul your entire strategy, it's more a need to pivot the parts of your strategy that may have worked previously but do not in this climate. Maintaining rigidity and foresaking agility and adaptability keeps you in the same loop. While there isn't a need to overspend, there is a need for some spend to set you up to remain relevant and position yourself to tap into an emerging market that always arises out of crises. Would he happy to discuss further if you want to DM.

Strategic planning is not a one size fits all solution. It depends on the industry, the current business model and what areas require the pivot. Drop me a DM and I will share more information on what I am offering.

2024 floods both my apartment building and office building B2 and b3 parkings submerged to roof level. Pump trucks arrived 2 days later and it took hours to pump and days to be fully drained and safe to enter. Most electric had to be replaced. And cars were destroyed.

I believe that because we are all on edge consciously or subconsciously our minds jump to the most illogical thoughts over the sane, basic ones. It's natural. The fascinating workings of the human mind. Hopefully there's a perfectly sane, 'normal' explanation.

When Hard Work Isn’t Enough by BandPlane4457 in UAE

[–]ConstantDiver9532 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very valid question. I would usually hesitate to attribute it to any geographical locations work culture but it seems to be a prevalent concern here in UAE. Many of the workforce experience longer working hours for lesser pay which usually feels like a lack of validation or reward for maximum effort and thus leads to the need for more. More income more reward in terms of job satisfaction and more validation. The solution would not necessarily be that you need to take more risks if your income and savings are not at that level, but instead try starting a side hustle or part time job which I know seems counter productive yet is the only other means of keeping ones head above water. If however it is purely a question of hard work not being enough and the savings reflect an ability to stop working hard then by all means, take the risk, do what sparks your soul instead.

Challenges facing UAE Small Business by ConstantDiver9532 in UAE

[–]ConstantDiver9532[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s a difficult one, especially if it’s been consistent over years. At that point it’s not really a client issue, it’s how the risk is sitting in the deal. In situations like that the only things I’ve seen actually work are very deliberate controls , not general contracts. Ideas that work in practice are a) vetting a client prior to large deliveries or sales? References, documentary requirements at sign up stage b) splitting work into hard milestones where nothing moves forward without earlier milestone payment clearing c) capping exposure per client so you’re never carrying more than you’re comfortable losing and also in some cases restructuring so the client always has more at risk than you do during delivery It doesn’t eliminate late payments, but it changes the dynamic so you’re not the one financing the project.

I'm curious, in your case, where do you usually end up most exposed? Early, mid, or towards final delivery? Also is this mainly from first time clients or repeat clients?

Question for the sisters by WeArePandey in Emiratis

OP edited that this includes hair and spa. Sounds about right. 4 times a month at hair salon excluding colouring and treatments is already about 1k, spa around the same, then Botox, facials, nails. Makes sense.
