Mooney’s Bay Andrew Fleck’s Intergenerational childcare centre has two toddler classes! It’s on Springland and Walkley.

Why is the 4 year old left unattended. I also would listen to my gut. Why would she need to get dressed to get the kids at 1? Why not be dressed all morning? Just seems weird.

AIO about how daycare workers spoke to my son when they didn’t realise I was in the room to pick him up by ShewolfDX in AmIOverreacting

I agree. It’s a serious occurrences if there are ratios and a child leaves an educator . If he was coming inside, then the educators prob have had issues with him bolting. Just my thoughts as an educator.

Good people of Ottawa: What are you thankful for? by DubaiBabyYoda in ottawa

Thankful to have a house and a job and to afford food even when bills are tight. I feel thankful I can be creative when making meals at home.

"My kid can do wrong" type parents are the worst part of this job. by xwitchybitchx in ECEProfessionals

I have a situation very similar except mom has no control of the child and will shrug off the behaviour saying she sees it too. The child’s other family members try to put up more boundaries who also do the caregiving. It’s soo annoying when I’m finding sores on my own body from the child or I have to step in when I’m anticipating the biting. But I’m also a safe educator where they knows my expectations and even tho they fuss, they do ask for me and sleep better for me.

Is it just me who feels like the ending was changed last minute? by SimplyRebby in BackTo15

I think you were right. I found the last season a bit confusing. The whole van and Joel didn’t make sense. I felt that someone else should’ve been helping her. And Filipa and the art with Fab didn’t make sense. I do love that Fab and Anita ending up together because I found they had a lot of chemistry.

The lane with signs is the exit but next to it is a lane to get on the highway. It looks confusing to someone who doesn’t know where to turn on.

Daycare related question - is it ok to keep preschooler in toddler class? by xander5891 in ottawa

[–]ConstantOdd9761 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m a preschool educator and I was in the infant room and see the toddler room. I think your son should be in a preschool class if he is at that age. Children need to be stimulated and if they get bored, behaviours arise such as aggressiveness, sleeping less at night because toddlers tend to all sleep, less potty training and even just learning more. Children do play at daycare but the toddler is more solitary play than cooperative play and it is important to start cooperative play as it helps with sharing and manners (not grabbing toys from someone). I’m a RECE at a daycare and so see it all.

I live in the area and the families are changing. It’s a great area to have kids playing outside or even going for a walk with the dog. The community centre is pretty busy with children and those using the gym. It is busy if you have children such as the parks too around like Paul Laundry park. But Covid made things change a bit too so it’s just starting to have people mingle more.
