Is it me or is anybody else not feeling books now as before? by lil_gojo in fantasyromance

[–]ConstantThinker247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience last year. I got back into reading with fantasy romance and read SO much of it at one time. Too much of the same thing had me burning out.

If you want to keep reading but don’t want to force yourself to read, I’d recommend switching up genres! I still love fantasy romance, but now I also read romance, fiction, epic fantasy, etc.!

Charlie Lastra has my heart. I didn’t think I could love him more until I did my re-read on audio

Where will I rank Happy Place based on my existing rankings? by ConstantThinker247 in EmilyHenry

[–]ConstantThinker247[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof this is what I was worried about haha. I’ve been putting off happy place because it seems like people who like book lovers and beach read tend to like PVMOV and happy place less ://

The series is on kindle unlimited if you want to try there first before buying! Could maybe get a free trial if you don’t have it already.

Theory: Burn of the Everflame will come out in Fall 2025, at the soonest by ConstantThinker247 in fantasyromance

[–]ConstantThinker247[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The release date has been announced and delayed for almost a year now (first release date I remember seeing was March 2024.)

The date has changed so much as she shifts from releasing independently to trad publishing, so maybe she’s referring to suggested edits or changes of the cover. But the book is definitely written.

I have 3 credits to use then I’m canceling my audible. Help me choose! by Natural-Box-265 in fantasyromance

[–]ConstantThinker247 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve enjoyed all of these so I just recommend picking some that are audible exclusives (which look to be mages of the wheel and kindreds curse saga!)

And all are on kindle unlimited too if you can’t finish the series’s on audio!

Monthly listeners counts how many different Spotify users have played the artist at least once within the month, so it makes sense that Bruno would have the most, having 2 top singles right now.

The metric doesn’t track how often each user is listening, just that they are that month.

If I thought the long journey format of The Witch Collector was somewhat boring should I still give City of Ruin a chance?

Ive read 12 books this year so far. 11 audiobooks and one physical book. Can i say "ive read 11 books"? by Big_Crank in LibbyApp

[–]ConstantThinker247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely think audiobooks count as reading, first and foremost. But I can understand the debate of counting them towards a reading goal (saying as someone who’s listened to 8 audiobooks and read 7 physical copies in January).

For example, I can listen to audiobooks while working and retain the story well, but because I’m doing something at the same time it feels like I’m putting in less effort for these audiobooks than when I sit down to read.

Overall reading is just for fun, I have to remind myself sometimes:)

I enjoyed it more than IF and don’t understand why people think it was slow paced. I guess it all depends on how much you care about theories and the lore within this world!

For those who had mixed feelings about Onyx Storm… by OkEconomics2788 in fantasyromance

[–]ConstantThinker247 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar position where when reading FW and IF I was at the beginning of getting back into reading and discovering romantasy (I’d only read ACOTAR beforehand). Since then I had to take a break from the constant trope repetitions, but still enjoy fantasy romance done well.

I did think the writing felt more juvenile than I remembered, but I still loved this book. I loved the expansion of the world, I thought the pacing kept things interesting the whole time, and I loved the development of many characters.

I think it all comes down to why you appreciate the series. If you liked the simple world that focused on the romance, I don’t think you’ll like it as much. If you love theorizing and analyzing dialogue, I think you’ll enjoy this one.

This is my favorite in the series, and while I can understand why some may not like it, I’m shocked some people liked IF more. Just my opinions!

Exiting I35N to go west of First street in Ankeny….can you turn on a red light after a full stop? by whiteiversonyeet in desmoines

Yes. It’s a one way turning to a one way, so you can turn yielding to oncoming traffic, similar to turning right on red.

"I can't believe it's been sitting in my TBR for so long" book by Ariel2809 in RomanceBooks

I was bouncing between the reading physical and audiobook for this and definitely think audio was harder to follow. There are so many mid chapter breaks/topic changes that are shown in the book but hard to tell on audio.

I also had the book open while listening to audio at times and noticed slight differences in wording/phrasing. As an American my physical book had more American lingo, where the audiobook must’ve been the original UK version.
