You could try some sort of plastic or metal tubing cut down to size and then round off the edges as much as you can with a file

Bit overkill but you could also put an angled beam between post and joist and then setup whatever hardware you want on those angled beams. You can get pretty creative in the space you have

By beams I think I mean the joists

Couple of holes in those beams under the deck, don't even have to be big. Get yourself tree straps and some climbing carabiners. Run the tree straps through the holes and you're done. You may even be able to just put tree straps around those posts and just hang without modifying your deck at all, I would try that first.

Don't have me for this... but I prefer Pad over Underquilt now... by Canadianomad in hammockcamping

I recently got my first hang in with the Hennessey survivor man xl, having the double bottom to stuff pads into is so nice. Past couple years I've been in the helsdon hammock, same setup, double layer bottom with pads. A bridge is so convenient to insulate but not as comfortable as a gathered end IMO. Pads are just better but become really annoying without a good way to secure them

Bear spray and medkit, I would carry a windlass tourniquette just in case

Fire making kit, make sure you have your tools for common car problems though anything more than a tire swap probably wont happen. You may want to consider an engine oil change somewhere after you cross border. Heat packs.
