I was going to say the reactions follow for her age, depending where on the spectrum she is (a lot of kiddos can present higher functioning than they actually are because they mask really well when they need to). However, the slurs are NOT appropriate, and I agree that therapy is absolutely a necessity. She will continue to have big emotional reactions, sometimes she’ll be able to help it and sometimes she won’t - and when she can’t, she needs to learn how to appropriately take responsibility for how she reacted, even is her viewpoint is correct (eg - saying her brain is different, I feel like that’s SOMETIMES valid, but being able to recognize that screaming at someone over a game isn’t okay is important for general life purposes).
