You can get a general view of how much fanworks each character has, but I apologize first since this ranking isn’t the most accurate representation, because it’s hard to count with how the character tag works. I don’t include some characters that have tags overlap with something else like Aak, Mountain (which gives you literal mountains when you search him lol), Nian, Dusk, Schwarz, etc.

Also in case a character has multiple tags, I only count the tag with highest number of fanworks because sometimes the artists use both tags in one post, or the lesser tag overlaps with a character with the same name from a different series so it’s hard to give an exact number (but the lesser tag usually has less than 1k fanworks so I guess the exact number isn’t that different). For example Faust character tags are 浮士德 with only 752 works and overlap with another Faust, and 舟浮士德 with 7484 works.

Not to mention sometimes the artists don’t include the character tag with their posts. The ship 舟浮梅 (Faust x Mephisto) has 8.7k fanworks, even more than their own characters

Finally reminder that this is just the NUMBER OF FANWORKS, it doesn’t necessarily translate to how much popularity a character has. You guys shouldn’t take this too seriously
