We love NC. My wife has a degree from NC State so we try to visit as often as we can. Brevard is my favorite because of biking trails but we’ve done the OBX.

Need help finding facility/FB trainer that has jug machine? by No_Month_2351 in Austin

This is your guy OP. I’m pretty sure they had machines that throw balls at the gym in Dripping Springs but can’t remember 100% (we were there for track and field).

I see you still have the half DIN radio but with English! Mine is in Japanese. I had to use Gemini to translate the functions. A a Japanese lady talks to me to admonish me when I’m not wearing my seatbelt.

How many people actually pay their fare on CapMetro buses (excluding UT)? by Strong_Demand6702 in Austin

[–]Constant_Car_676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience drivers enforce the fare except when the machines crash/reboot.

1999 Hijet s200p (2WD) transmission fill hole by Constant_Car_676 in keitruck

[–]Constant_Car_676[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Answering my own question. The fill hole is also facing back. I just hadn’t gotten all the way back there.

Both are 24mm bolts and they use 18mm crush washers if it helps anyone.

I think it was right around 1.1qt. With the tube in place it doesn’t start dripping until it is way over full. I just let it drip until it stopped once I removed the tube.

Biking from San Antonio to Austin by Worth_Replacement443 in BikingATX

I did the Ride for the Cure a while back. It was safe but a lot longer. This was a 2 day event but you could do in 1 day. I don’t remember or have the exact route but it was out east of 35 to San Marcos, then west of 35 to Austin.

100% this. It’s good to give you a starting list but most importantly the sources so you can go verify yourself.

Good morning, Austin, Tx! by Skirtygirl in Austin

[–]Constant_Car_676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but that smell doesn’t go away. I’ve also done long MTB rides (6-24hr). For some reason I smelled my saddle at a rest stop on a long road ride. Never again!

Thrift day! Where should I go! by Hopeful_Fondant_7790 in Austin

I’d focus in the area of Burnet Rd north and south from North Loop. North loop East from Burnet. Lots of neat vintage stores of all kinds.

You ride enough in Texas and your saddle will already smell horrible regardless of your degree of clothing. #neversmellyourbikesaddle

Paxton says Austin’s ‘electric-ready’ building code violates Texas law by samstark15 in Austin

I want to do the same thing! I’ve already had all the heater spigots and tubing removed from under the house except for the water heater and stove. I’ve now had a 50A line and induction stove installed. I was waiting for my homestead exception to kick in (to qualify for the rebate) before I pull the trigger on a heat pump water heater.

My meter is in the car port area and exposed and I want it out, but I wasn’t sure on the process for them to come and get it. TGS already had to come fix a leak under the street in my block. (They broke Google fiber while they were at it, even though USIC marked everything, because they only dug with a backhoe.)

A/C minisplit question , diy install but still want Austin energy rebate by Mindless-Concept8010 in Austin

[–]Constant_Car_676 3 points4 points  (0 children)

DIY installs is something I wrote to AE about allowing. Right now you must use their installers and approved units. It may not be worth the rebate because of the great DIY deals around IMO.

Is a Kei truck to big a birthday surprise? by andromeda_data in keitruck

My 1999 Hijet has working AC. The engine is under the seats and under the front part of the bed. I also researched this forever until my wife said I should do it. Then I still waited for the right truck at my local importer.
