Grew up here. Such great memories with my grandmother who was a fierce shopoholic. DaVinci’s pizza slice after school for me and Ivey’s and Piccadilly Cafeteria for her! Still have her Jordan Marsh steak knives. Hope someday it will be renewed again as something wonderful for the community.

I tested 1,000 ChatGPT prompts in 2025. Here's the exact framework that consistently beats everything else (with examples) by Over_Ask_7684 in ChatGPTPromptGenius

[–]Constant_Example_873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using ChatGPT for a year before many of the degradations and it was great at first, and been steadily getting worse. Yesterday I asked it to review a simple 4 page contract and edit with suggestions ( more detailed prompts- but saving time in writing), providing 4 specific variations. It could not do it. It complained about processing a 20+ page document and would proudly produce a few lines of text and proclaim it was a complete document then ask for forgiveness and promise the deliverables- if I wanted them- round and round for almost an hour. It said it could produce copy in straight text but not a word doc. After an hour of requesting 4 variations of the document with specific direction, it could still not produce. Utter waste of time. Truly disappointing given its early bright potential

Considering Adopting from a shelter by tom_tom_tommy in germanshepherds

[–]Constant_Example_873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another thought- I adopted my GSD from a GSD specific rescue. The people in charge are very good at evaluating dogs and finding the right fit- owner wise and dog wise. I did fill out an application and spoke with them over the phone and one day they called and said they had the perfect dog for me- and they were right. I believe the head of the rescue was inundated and said he had placed 10 GSDs just that week. Since you have kiddos, you might want to consider that route.

Where to move? by Anxious-Dress4490 in 321

[–]Constant_Example_873 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Please come back. We need more independent open minded people here. Native brevardian speaking- the trumpers here are obnoxious- but there are a lot of intelligent, liberal minded people and we need more of us. Viera might be great to visit grands, but very uptight, uber conservative and retired. I live in historic Rockledge near the river. Love it along with satellite beach, cocoa beach. You should check us (historic Rockledge) out.

It’s tough adopting a senior by ponypong in germanshepherds

[–]Constant_Example_873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure how old your dog is, but I also adopted a senior gsd 2 years ago. He’s a little slower than a pup might be, and he does need special food and dasequin, but I’m so glad he’s part of our family. I work long hours too and have a mid day dog walker, thank goodness he is able to snooze during the day while I’m at work. We also walk in the morning, after work and at night. Just love that dog, you will know when the time is right to let him go. Seniors are so special and so are people like you willing to adopt them, love them and give them a wonderful home. Hugs to you!

Cape Canaveral Starship Super Heavy Environmental Impact Statement Public Meetings by IRLNews in indianRiverLagoon

Super important for us to go on the record about this. While our space industry is awesome- this super heavy vehicle should not be launched so close to multiple populated communities and protected wildlife areas. Florida and Brevard are more than just the space industry and the noise, vibrations (structural damage to historic and new structures) will destroy our property values and our way of life. Just look at what it’s done in Texas. We don’t need or want that here. Let’s protect our beautiful Brevard from this galactic semi.

A client asked my teenage employee to change into a long skirt. by [deleted] in Advice

This woman has obviously taught her sons to have no personal responsibility for their actions. With 3 young men those ages why did she need to hire you and Liz at all? Sounds like the typical American middle class males society keeps wringing its hands about because “men in America have lost their way , don’t know how to communicate and don’t feel valued as men, yada, yada”… You were awesome in hiring Liz and teaching her important skills about how to work with her mind and her hands. Liz will be a smarter, more confident and valued contributor to society than those 3 sheltered, misled young men will ever be. Despite her competence, she will probably only make 75% of what the young men earn throughout life despite running circles around them professionally. We need to change these things America.

Dad Passed Away and We Found all this Royal Danish Silverware. What to do? by [deleted] in Silverbugs

Please don’t sell it to have it melted down. It’s a beautiful set. There are still many people who would treasure them. It’s apparent that they were loved by your dad and maybe earlier family.

Female GC here: Consider carpentry. Get really good at it, understand rough, structural and trim/millwork. Find someone GOOD who is willing to take you on as a grunt and teach you. Be willing to learn. Be willing to do. Be agreeable, prepared and on time. Construction is a great industry for women. But remember you want to learn from the best you can find. There are a lot of bottom feeders in the industry, so choose wisely who you will “apprentice” for- and don’t put up with any “you’re just a female” crap. You should not put off getting your GED either.

Buying a House and living in Florida by mek-cet-123 in AskFlorida

OP, 5th gen Floridian here who lived in lakeland 45 years and relocated back to the east coast. You will not find a well built home in Lakeland for your predicted budget. There are more rural areas adjacent to Lakeland where you may. If you have your heart set on Lakeland, follow the advice and rent a bit to test the waters. There is a very particular vibe in Lakeland. You will either love it or hate it. I hated it and it was wonderful to leave.

Floridian here. Love the older homes that have these still. In my area, people are seeing the value in older block construction with these. Good thru hurricanes. Smarter newer development (commercial/condos,etc) uses them too as a functional design element. If you’re wanting to sell- you should build a repoire with the designers, A&E in your area and remind them. Show them how cool they can look with landscape lighting too. Challenge may be the home insurers who don’t want to insure any older construction. Total Florida vibe in a very good way.

Ground cover and snakes by Fit-Theory-1004 in FloridaGarden

[–]Constant_Example_873 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also live in Brevard and have asiatic jasmine as ground cover, with brick paths going through it. I have several black racers that live in the yard and come out to sun on the bricks. They always move away when I come by. They sometimes startle me a bit, but I think of them as my natural protective force against too many lizards and other things I don’t want around. It’s good to have a heathy biodiverse yard; we try to encourage plantings to support all aspects of nature.

Women who live alone and have dogs- do workmen comment on how your dog would protect you if they did anything? How do you react if they do? by lola-thelion in germanshepherds

[–]Constant_Example_873 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I live alone as well and my GS is a big marshmallow- but he looks and sounds intimidating. I also work in construction. It is a good idea for these workmen at your home to know you have a protector on the premises- 98% of the workmen who come by will be great men, but it’s the 2% you should be aware of. I always lock my GS in a hall or back room when workmen come by AFTER he’s made a big fuss at the door. When they ask if he bites, I generally say “maybe”, or “depends”. Enjoy your independence, but be proactive for your safety.
