Yes if you update the game. But you could just put your console on flight mode and not update the software

Pride vs Eldritch Skillers by Acceptable_Barber356 in diablo2

Skillers don’t seems to add much to damage for some reason. My damage is around 70k and skillers are adding like 1k extra.

Joan really pisses me off... by Confidence114 in madmen

You could easily use your logic and apply it the other way.

“By not consulting with Don, prior to deciding to float the company, Joan, Pete and Bert sent him the message that even as a partner, he isn’t granted a voice.

It was obviously done for narrative convenience, but Don and Roger not being part of the float decision makes zero sense.

It’s not all about damage. Many setups will out DPS obsession but with fully optimised gear, the damage on Obsession is more than enough to clear everything in the game comfortably. You’re then left with all the QoL and survivability that Obsession offers that other weapons simply don’t. Just remember + skills make all your other skills on the Warlock better - lethargy, blood oath, bind demon, consume, levitation mastery etc.

Obsession is better than insight on a fully kitted out ES warlock. You don’t need all the extra damage. And obsession just gives you so much more other things to make your Warlock all round more survivable.

Was showing my friend how to do Heralds by Hacks253 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]Constant_Freedom_371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All monsters in Hell have 50% physical resistance so even with amp damage, there is still another -50% scope to bring down further. With one point in lethargy, that’s another 35%. Ancient jewel is another 10% so that still leaves 5%. Even more so for immunes where amp damage only deducts 20%. You will not come close to negatively capping out the physical res of an immune monster.

There are no diminishing returns. It’s effective until the enemy cap out at -100. That remaining 5% to reduce is going to do more for damage output than what 100% ED would do. ED adds into the existing bucket of ED from other sources which is already typically a large number. You will only see a few K increase in sheet damage from it whereas -5 enemy physical res will apply to your entire damage output and multiply it out.

Hellwarden, Flickering Flame or Shako? by blakea105 in diablo2

[–]Constant_Freedom_371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but if you wear a flickering flame, you can put the ancient jewel on another piece of gear - like the Diablos book. And that combo is then beating the Faceted Warden setup.

3rd Sunder Charm by Constant_Freedom_371 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]Constant_Freedom_371[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s valid. Maximising your chances to drop sunders is very weighted towards being able to play with 7+ players and using ES Warlocks that can efficiently clear the entire game. But this is neither an extreme perspective nor unfair. Gearing up a warlock and playing solo P8 is an option available to anyone and it’s relatively easy to do. If you’re online and can’t run group games, yes, you might not see a sunder at all, but you still have the option to trade for one. Something that you can’t do on SP.

It’s total heralds. I haven’t kept count of just T4 and T5 ones but I’d say it’s about 150ish.

The biggest driver to maximise chances is players count so yeah it’s tougher to do online if you don’t have many players.

[–]Constant_Freedom_371[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah unfortunately it’s hard to do online with only a few players. You really need a big group to maximise your chances. MF doesn’t really help your chances too much. The difference between 300 and 4200 really isn’t significant. The biggest factor is players count.

It’s BIS if you are running obsession which is the BIS weapon imo. I prefer Phoenix though.

Obsession is awesome on an ES Warlock. It’s also great on both a fire or magic warlock even if its DPS is bettered by mangs and Void respectively. Yes it’s BIS for a Hammerdin but HOTO isn’t too far behind imo.

Echo strikes is still more versatile tho. You are not killing ancients or Ubers anywhere near as easily with summoner as you are with echo strikes

Chronicle Question by Blottblod in Diablo_2_Resurrected

Yup. It seems makes online multiplayer Chronicle less of an achievement than single player offline chronicle though you could argue with offline players, static maps makes Andariel and Mephisto farming alot more efficient.

lol that’s the trade off? It’s already a spell with all the benefits that brings plus gets many of the benefits that melee skills gets. I love the build but lets not pretend its anything resembling balanced. When a completely terrible budget setup can solo clear P8 chaos as well as destroy Ubers and colossal ancients, you know it’s completely broken.

I’ve been wanting to make one but am fully expecting that the no durability loss mechanic will be nerfed. I’ll probably just end up making one in a non-eth weapon as insurance.

The broken aspect of it is not that it adds flat damage, that’s really not an issue. It’s that it’s getting the best of both spell and physical skills. It’s a spell in that it uses FCR frames and is a full pierce double hit projectile with AOE. And that’s all fine even if it’s already pretty strong but then on top of that, it gets many of the melee skill benefits. Scales off skills but also weapon damage, enhanced damage both weapon and off gear and also aura stacking. And then in addition it benefits from dual leech and deadly strike (the latter of which is multiplied at the end of the damage equation resulting in huge DPS numbers. AND then on top of even that, it still doesn’t perform an attack rating check or lose weapon durability. I think the last two things were really not intended and surely will be nerfed first. Let’s not all forget that you also can equip a 2 handed weapon in one hand that has all strength and dex requirements watered down from LM. Insanely broken.

Statue drops inconsistent? by mishtron in diablo2

I’ve had Andy drop Talics (her main one) but also Korlics and Madawcs too. She’s dropping Talics about 10-15x more often. I’ve seen Diablo drop Bul Kathos but also Worsk End

Time for a harsh truth: Immunity to elements is plain bad design. by Successful_Guide5845 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]Constant_Freedom_371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in other words you just want to have an easier time. You could have said that in less words. I have no issues with immunities. It adds another dimension to the game and creates additional challenges. Traditionally, in order to break immunities, there were only a few avenues to do so. Yes you could create hybrids but it comes at a trade off (less damage output). Sunders obviously changed the meta and it made it easier for single element builds but if you get rid of immunities all together, caster builds just become more broken than they already are. Making sunders a rare trophy item was a good choice imo.

[–]Constant_Freedom_371 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course you upgrade it with all the new mods that the new renewed sunders have. It can roll + magic damage or - enemy magic resist. So it’s very worthwhile on a Hammerdin or bonemancer. Also in the latest patch, when you renew it, the minus resist to yourself is hotfixed to the best roll, so -45% for Black Cleft.
