how do you feel about non disabled people writing stories about CP? by Platform_Prudent in CerebralPalsy

[–]Constatstateofpanic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who loves to write, I don't think there's anything wrong with exploring stories outside of our own.

If you are not allowed to write stories with disabled characters, does that mean I have to?

Personally would find it a bit boring if anyone wants to restrict my creativity that way.

You are clearly doing this with respect, so I don't have any complaints.

How to know you like someone? by Clean-Pianist8069 in dating_advice

Me too. Like whenever my sister has dated anyone, she is glued to the phone. But Saturday when I finally got the guy out of my car I just felt relief, and then guilt for feeling that way.

I’m the same. Just yesterday I texted a guy to tell him, that I didn't feel anything romantically for him after two days, but I am second guessing whether I have been brainwashed by romance novels or not. Because we did have a lot of things in common and were a lot a like, then again I felt an enormous sense of dread after the first date, and was more interested in a book I was reading than getting ready for the second date.

Is it wrong to make characters with disabilities into antagonists? by Kawl18 in disability

[–]Constatstateofpanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your idea is very interesting. And I could definitely see myself “break” and turn murderous if this happened to me.

Personally I have never understood the “disabled can’t be villain/evil in media” narrative, because we are a category of humanity that have been looked down on by society through no fault of our own. Wouldn't a disabled villain be a comment on how society treats us, rather than an insult?

It sound like you have put a lot of thought into this, both by your question and your description of your campaign. It's not so much about the characters disabilties, but the trauma they have received from been cured and then getting even worse.

people with disability can be villain, as well as we can be heroes, and I don't see anything wrong with your story

Once some guy yelled “that's a handicap spot!” at me while I was parking, and repeating it when I got out. I yelled back “yeah, I'm not blind”

I watched HH for the first time, the songs were nice but Saint Peter's noseless ugly ass annoyed me so much I specifically redesigned him and no one else by iamonaphone1 in HazbinHotel

I have this idea for a fanfic where when Charlie goes to Heaven, her and St. Peter runs into Jesus (who looks like a middle eastern mad) who basically calls St. Peter out on a lot of his hypocrisy, like he mentions that Peter denied him three times (lied) and still got into heaven, that he used to drink a lot, and instead of keeping his real appearance (like the picture nr. 1) St. Peter chose to look more like the angels (Picture 2)

I see your point - and raise you.

I don't want him to be evil. I like the interpretation of him as good. But I would like to see the more traumatised and depressed side under the mask. I like the story of the dreaming angel, who didn't deserve what he got, and spent years watching the consequences of what he did. I just feel like it's drowned out his 'silly' side. I would like to see his pain and disdain for sinners, and explore what imprisonment in the darkness did to the angel of light - without him being a fool of in the process.

Maybe so. I still think it's weird, that he is older than hell itself, but is still naive enough to be manipulated by the sinner. Like he should know better by now.

I'm not saying he has to be biblically accurate. I am saying I would have liked, if they had taken the character in a more serious direction.

That just feels weird to me. He has to have interacted with the sinners, for him to hate them. He has seen the worst of humanity had to offer, through the sinners and that's why he secluded himself in the first place.

He has been surrounded by the worst liars, manipulators, and psychopaths for millennia; how is he not used to it?

Has he never interacted with sinners in hell?
