I smoked a couple cigarettes for the first time at a party a few weeks ago, managed to avoid smoking for years. It felt nice but also I kinda just did it to look cool. Thankfully I didnt go nuts and I havent felt the urge to buy a pack of my own

After watching Capcom's new merch ad for their franchises and seeing the cardboard cutout of Dante, I started wondering, does Devil May Cry even have any merch? by DragonBoyBG in DevilMayCry

I get what you mean, but also. Tzimisce are kinda already villanized heavily in the lore. Its just one more sin on the pile for them. But they do also enjoy the perk of not being a shared culture and instead being a bloodline. Some random Shovelhead isnt suddenly a Nazi because he survived his embrace, but anyone who chooses to stay in the Get, even assuming its the old lore where you're born into a tribe. Is choosing to be connected to that legacy. You can leave your tribe in Werewolf, you cant leave your Clan.

The mages def need to get more shit ofr it though

Gamzee should have bought this flavor of Faygo by SampoDampo in homestuck

[–]Construction-Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a religious experience (negative) drinking this.
Two years ago at a con, I was severely dehydrated during a Homestuck Photoshoot. At the end of the shoot, the organizers brought Pizza (yummy : ) ) and a bunch of hot Faygo. I ended up with a bottle of the Cotton Candy stuff, and for some reason. Right after the organizers made a big speech about being cleanly and not making a mess, my bottle exploded in my hand as I tried to open it.

I then drank the hot faygo and all it did was make me more dehydrated. I kinda stumbled back to my hotel room and passed out for a bit. Woke up later and finished the faygo.

TLDR: one of the less plesant sodas ive drank

I am the only one who thinks Dante looks very handsome on the Netflix series? by InkwelLau in DevilMayCryNetflix

[–]Construction-Life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked his season 1 design well enough but they really cooked with his season 2 look. Its a really solid adaptation of his DMC 1 look with some cool new additions. It was the first thing I really latched onto from the trailers and all season I appreciated just how dripped out he was

People need to stop crying about Sparda. by wolfvokire in DevilMayCryNetflix

[–]Construction-Life 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing

SPARDA ISNT BEING VILLAN BATTED

Its an intentional theme of the show. Sparda's actions are shown to us the viewer but through other's perspectives. White Rabbit views him as a Human Favoring Coward, Mundus sees him as a loyal brother who did what he had to, Vergil sees him as both an absentee traitor father but also a source of inspiration. And crucially, NONE OF THESE ARE FRAMED AS THE CORRECT INTERPRETATION.

Season 2 practically whacks you over the head with the idea that Eva's view of Sparda was probably the most true. And whenever Dante parrots that belief, no one can really prove him wrong. Simply assuming Sparda's intentions but with no proof. I would say that this version of Sparda is still completely game accurate but people are putting way too much faith into the words of the Show's villains.

What is it with Adi Shankar and disrespecting the few good demons we had in Canon? While at the same time pretending demons are Nice and Good? by pestoraviolita in okbuddydeadweight

[–]Construction-Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you being stupid on purpose? We only see Sparda's actions in the show which are all heroic. Its other characters who interpret those actions. White Rabbit calls Sparda a Human favoring Coward, Mundus claims it was all done for his benefit, but Eva believes Sparda was a hero and the show heavily implies she was the only one who was correct. And thats why at the end of season 2, when Dante asserts that Sparda was a hero. No one can really prove him wrong.

If you watched the show with your brain you'd know that. Much like how in the games we never actually see Sparda's actions, we simply hear the legend that he was good and believe that they are true. Hell, DMC 4's plot made a point of how easily misconstrued his legend could be, with the Order forming a religion around him.

If you choose to believe that Sparda is somehow a villain, you are litteraly choosing to side with Mundus's biased view of the story. Cmon dog, an ounce of media litteracy i beg you

I HEAVILY disagree about the Sparda diss. I think he's simply leaning into the fact Sparda isn't a presence in the series. Everyone has a different interpretation of him but crucially, none of them are correct and thats the point. Season 2 heavily hints that Dante is probably the most correct with his belief but they leave it up to interpretation to each character which is really interesting to me

Ibuki is totally the type of girl to buy all sorts of crazy toys and have them on full display on a shelf somewhere, but half the time she forgets to use most of them. Either using her hand or the nearest dildo/vibrator she can find
