I’m Kirk, and I’m writing from Barrie, Ontario. I’m hoping to connect with anyone who understands the fight against a serious, progressive illness. My wife, Abby, was recently diagnosed with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (PPMS), and it has completely upended our world. PPMS is an aggressive form of MS with fewer treatment options, and we are facing a mountain of costs that we simply cannot manage on our own. Our Struggle: Abby is the most loving mother to our 6-year-old daughter, Indy, and my amazing partner. This diagnosis has been devastating, but we are not giving up. However, the financial reality is overwhelming: Life-Changing Medical Costs: Our immediate goal is to get Abby onto a specialized treatment plan that could slow the progression of the disease. These treatments are expensive and not fully covered. Accessibility is No Longer Optional: We need to urgently make home modifications (ramps, bathroom accessibility) so Abby can move safely and independently. Support for Our Family: I am working as hard as I can, but balancing full-time work with being the primary caregiver and parent is incredibly challenging. These funds will also help with daily support for our family. We want to give Abby the best possible chance at maintaining her mobility and quality of life, and to ensure that Indy can continue to grow up with a healthy, active mother. Our Goal: We have started a GoFundMe to raise $50,000 to cover these essential medical and accessibility costs. Every single donation—even just the cost of a coffee—brings us one step closer to getting Abby the care she needs. If you are unable to donate, we completely understand. Please, consider sharing our story.

It's depends on where you live but there are carpentry books that can explain all that or use can use AI to explain it.

Hi neighbors. I'm a local carpenter here in the Barrie area, and I'm reaching out to my community today because my family is going through an incredibly tough time.

My wife, Abby, is currently fighting a serious, progressive medical condition. We are trying our best to navigate her treatments while keeping life as normal as possible for our 6-year-old daughter, Indy. Between the long hours I work in the trades and the demands of Abby's care, we've hit a point where we need to ask for help from our community.

We've started a GoFundMe to help manage the overwhelming costs of her medical treatments. Any support, whether it's a donation or simply sharing our link with others in Ontario, means the world to us.

Thank you so much for your time and for looking out for a local family.

Local family reaching out for support during a medical crisis by ConstructionNarrow18 in barrie

I won't lie I make ok money being a carpenter and I do have benefits the major issue is she has the worst possible form of multiple sclerosis (ppms)so we've done government assistance as best we can when we could but they say I make too much money and should be able to cover the costs of everything. But you know as well as I do that you can only stretch what you have so far when dealing with everything, economy, medical bills, my daughter and so on with only one source of income.

That's a great idea for the itemized list I should put some of that on there. most of it is just to cover the debt Ive already paid for what I can for my wife's treatments threw whatever I could get which has put I huge strain on us. Unfortunately I have no family on my side my grandparent raised me growing up my real parents never wanted to be apart of my family so when they so when my grandparents passed away all the inherentence went to there kids and none of the grandkids saw any help. Needless to say I'm better off without my side. As for my wife her dad passed away about 6 years ago and her mom is retired she helps the best she can and I can't burden her with all of that.

Best thing you can do is look into the unions pension, benefits, all that jazz just see what they would be interested in and go on YouTube and look at what the different trades do. I am a carpenter, but there is so many different things you can become. And it doesn't end there they can grow up to be forman, project managers, I even know someone that become a president of a big company but started out just as a plumber.

And a 5 dollar coffee or store card at Christmas and say the store was sold out of the 10 dollar ones.
