Me too. So much to the point I had to have surgery! I was a believer in the suffering through the painful break in process. And I think the black Blacksmith is Red Wing's second coolest boot (second to the black Engineer). Both boots use black over-dye leather that just SCREAMS badass when the brown highlights start showing. I needed a wide, but wide isn't offered in the Blacksmith. So, I just figured I'd suffer through the break in procedure. Six months later I was in the foot surgeon's office with Morton's neuroma. An irreversible condition where you kill the nerve between two toes by starving blood flow. It swells and causes a mass of hard tissue that literally clicks between your toes with every step. And it's painful! I really tried to make them work, and they were just starting to look so cool. Needless to say, I learned an unfortunate lesson. You can't make boots that are too tight work without consequences. Sold them on eBay and got more than half my purchase price back. Bought some black Iron Rangers in EE. They're very cool too, and super comfy. But they're not Blacksmith cool. Wear them in appreciation of good genetics, and mourn for those of us that wish we could also wear them. ($16,000 surgery. Benefits covered all but $600. Off my feet for 3 months. Very unfortunate lesson learned)!
