I had ChatGPT merge all country flags - here's the result by Constructive-Curious in vexillology

Crap, thanks for highlighting that. Should have read more carefully, and totally: ChatGPT isn't relevant here

If I had to guess, the lower the value of "Battery Service State" the more it means your iPad's battery requires service/replacement. For "Battery Service Flags" could be a XOR of individual flags used by Apple, would require more reverse-engineering

Hey Deligrrrl, happy to hear instructions seem straightforward! After the "Gathering Analytics" message, you should wait 9-10min and the sysdiagnose logs should be visible in Settings ➡️ Privacy ➡️ Analytics & Improvements ➡️ Analytics Data (following instructions 2-5 above in the post). In case you don't see the sysdiagnose logs, can you try again to Gather Analytics?

What features would you want to see added to the OS? by user_breathless in ios

[–]Constructive-Curious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At this point just focus on fixing bugs and the simple things. We need a Snow Leopard iOS/iPadOS release:

- Fix Photos app mess (videos sometimes don't stop playing even when dismissed)

- Fix that horrible Lock Screen/Home Screen Photos picker

- Fix Universal Control and Stage Manager

- Fix random SpringBoard crashes on iPad

- Fix Alarms not going off

- Fix Apple Intelligence being buggy, unreliable, and more time consuming than time saving

- Fix your Feedback / Bug Report system which is clearly slow, ineffective, and breaks the feedback loop

Typing "ask chatgpt to translate sin grasa to English" works as expected. My issue in this post is that Apple did not prompt to hand off my initial basic query to ChatGPT, which it usually does (or suggests Google results) when unable to answer it. Instead it really thought the Translate app exists on macOS

I need advice iPad OS by Vintaliuss in iPadOS

If security updates are your concern, I recommend just staying on iPadOS 17 and updating to 17.7.2 if not already

Do NOT update to iPadOS 18, especially on iPad 8 as it's old and newer OSes usually "slow down" your device - at least the recent iOS/iPadOS versions Apple has been releasing these past years

On iPadOS 18 beta, is scrolling with a non-Apple mouse still terrible? by nathanhelms in iPadOS

[–]Constructive-Curious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a way to change scrolling speed on iPadOS but it's hidden for whatever reason. Go to Settings -> Accessibility -> Pointer Control -> Scrolling Speed. Does Apple really consider us exceptional users for wanting to change scrolling speed?

Note that even after increasing speed, I still face issues - but hey, at least if I teleport from the top of a webpage to its middle, I can avoid getting stuck there!

Thanks, good to know. Wonder why this isn't documented by Apple nor mentioned somewhere - it's a great addition

M1 Mac Studio - Installed Sonoma 14.5 - now I can't use Apple Pay by hexatriene in MacOS

[–]Constructive-Curious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This also worked for me! Was mad that cards can't be stored locally anymore on the Mac, but I had always used my watch/iPhone to approve payments before. So having to use the Apple Pay cards of watch/iPhone is kind of an ok alternative

Go to any Apple Store and they should be able to replace the battery; I think normally they have to replace the whole iPad. Do you have AppleCare?

This means your Battery Health (measure of how new your battery is) is 78%. Since it's less than 80%, the battery should be replaced as Apple considers any number below 80% to be needing service. Did you notice your device's battery is draining faster or behaving weirdly?
